    Economic riding using TCD.

I tested both bikes out in the street (smooth and flat surface) and both has the same issue for me. "Issue" is maybe the wrong word, but it's the first one that comes to mind. Obviously it's the way it's designed and built, and tbh, it don't gel with me. The resistance/drag of the motor is...

    Economic riding using TCD.

Ah well, i'm known to over react sometimes. Thinking about it, I do get a bit of a mental shock when I go down from turbo to eco sometimes. That shock is obviously much greater for me going to no assist then. I'll test that. I'll use my vado and the wife's como 3.0 and take a drive without any...

    Economic riding using TCD.

Brendon, I find it more than just some drag. It's a definite drag that almost holds me back and feels like it's slowing me down. It don't feel like weight nor wind resistance. Although i'm 63 I still feel like i'm a strong(ish) rider that's more than capable of riding a heavy bike against the...

    Economic riding using TCD.

I've tried that. With the motor off, it feels like i'm going against the motor. It has a drag that I have to pedal against....i'm planning to speak to the shop mechanic when I take it in for it's first service next week. Don't know if it's normal, but I don't like that. I actually can't see...

    Economic riding using TCD.

Ha Ha...without understanding me, you answered my question perfectly. It's exactly what i was suspecting to....when the level goes up less rider input (W) is needed. Thank you for the equation. That explains it well. I'm well aware of the watts being my input and not that of the motor though...

    Economic riding using TCD.

I need some input here plz. When riding my Vado 4.0 and looking for the most economic pedalling, it came to me to use the power/cadence combination on the TCD (i'm not interested atm in using Mission control)....the lower the Watts, the less power I use, thus the more i'll get from the battery...

Turbo Levo May 2020 error codes and spontaneous motor shutoffs

I have some dielectric grease that I want to use for this purpose, but since read that it's not made for use on contacts as it's non conductive. I'm in two minds now...

Swap Como 4.0 48T chainring with Vado 4.0 40T chainring

How do you find the bikes after you did the swop? Both you and the wife happy with the new gearing? Reason i'm asking is i'm contemplating doing the same. I have the Vado 4.0 and the wife the Como 3.0 and we have the same issue. It's early days (we've only done 100km) on the bikes for us, but...

    Thule bike rack question..

Thank you for the responses. I'll stick with my gut feeling and remove the batteries when I do the long stretches. We're busy making the covers.

    Thule bike rack question..

Hi Everybody. I really need your input on my "dilemma". I have the Thule Euroway 932 bike rack. It packs 3 bikes, but I bought it for our two E bikes. Hopefully i'm over thinking this, but i'm a bit concerned about the weight on it. The two bikes has a combined weight of 48kg and the rack has a...

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

Thanks mate...forgot about that. Just looked and the saddle is way back. I can steal about two inches ;)

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

Actually mate. If you look at the photo of it, it don't "blend" that well with the spacers. At the onset it didn't bother me that much (I was way to exited to take notice of it), but lately it kinda catches my eye...a little bit. Just something for you to consider. There surely are others that...

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

Yes I researched before hand to. Another reason I went for the Vado. The NZ law appeals to me very much. Anything under 300W is considered a bicycle..no matter what speed it can do.

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

That is also the reason I got the Vado. I wanted more speed and power. Now i'm only using it when I ride alone...and that can be a bit boring sometimes. The wife is only now learning to ride. That slows me down radically, but I don't mind. What counts is we're being out there...soothing the...

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

Thanks Stefan. I'll have to give the wife some cool down time first. She's still busy working out why i'm spending more money to Comonize the Vado, when I could've got a Como in the first place. Frankly i'm starting to think she has a point...🤪 But it is what it is, and i'm happy for now.

    I'm "Comonizing" my Vado 4.0

Hi Everybody. New here and want to share my experience on our bikes so far. So, we walked into the LBS a few weeks ago and all they had in stock is a Como 3.0 low step, a Como 3.0 high step, and a Vado 4.0 high step. We immediately decided on the low step for the wife and after trying the 3.0, I...

    TCD-W Charge Mode Screen issue

Thank you. That would hopefully help me. I have the same issue on my at Vado 4.0. Topped it up last night and I noticed that the screen didn't light up at all. I'll have to wait on testing that though. I booked it in today at the LBS to have the handle bars lifted...looks like the cables...

    Full battery discharge ride

I notice on my 2020 Vado 4.0 when the power is left on with zero assist, there's a bit of a drag from the motor. When I switch the power off, it pedals easier. Wondering if that's normal...?

Changing Pressure on Fat Tire Bikes With Slime

Thanks. That's good to know. We're getting our bikes in a few days and I will be adding slime. Another question plz. Do you set the valve in the 12 o'clock position when checking pressures with the gauge?

Changing Pressure on Fat Tire Bikes With Slime

My concern is for the pressure testing gauge when checking tire pressures. Surely when I connect it to the valve some slime will get into the gauge...and that won't be good for the gauge?
