Question for my fellow road riders.

The big thing I've seen more and more of lately by me is the coal rolling. Witnessed an innocent cyclist on the sidewalk minding their own business when a truck creeped up on them slowly from behind and proceeded to roll coal. I was driving in the opposite direction and that boiled me up. So...

Question for my fellow road riders.

Agreed and when I'm on a single lane busy road I totally get it and make room or take an escape route off the road when and where I can to allow cars to keep moving. This specific area where this keeps happening is a quiet neighborhood road as wide as a 3 Lane highway, with no cars on it and...

Question for my fellow road riders.

Not exclusively. I definitely get that there are sparsely populated areas with hills and turns where this is 100% the case. In densely packed urban environments however, it has nothing to do with sight lines. Where I live, you are simply not allowed to move in to oncoming traffic to make a...

Question for my fellow road riders.

That would at least make more sense. What I'm talking about is a quiet neighborhood road. No painted lines, 5-6 cars wide or better with no cars parked on the street and me as far over to the side as is physically possible without starting to ride on lawns and they don't overtake. Pet peeve...

52V 38.5Ah ebike.. 2kwh battery pack paired with BBSHD - insane range

I will be upgrading the brakes this winter while the bike is down for the season. I'd love a 203mm rotor but I don't think the RST guide can fit it. 180 and mt5 is probably what I'll end up with.

52V 38.5Ah ebike.. 2kwh battery pack paired with BBSHD - insane range

BBSHD before they apparently discontinued them. Can't find it on the website anywhere. Only real disappointments have been the brakes and headlight. Overall very happy with it. 1000 miles in 7 months. Any issues I had to get resolved with Biktrix support went over without a hitch. Customer...

    Repeated Flats

No. I keep all tools necessary to patch and inflate my tires in my tool bag on my rear rack. 15 minutes and I'm up and running like new. No need to remove wheels. Same so far. Been plugging and patching automotive tires for nearly 2 decades. Proper repair should always result in a permanent fix.

    Repeated Flats

I guess I'm heading into uncharted territory 🤣. I have a spare tube but my rear wheel is such a pain to remove. If I can make it to winter I will change it then.

    Repeated Flats

How many patches is too many for one tire? In 6 months and 900 miles I've had 5 punctures, all in the rear tire. 5 patches and still holding strong. My tube is starting to look like a teenager with an acne problem.

    NEW SONDORS LX

While I cancelled mine and have a different bike now, I look forward to seeing more of these in the hands of people, especially those that have had to endure delay after delay.

BBS** Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay *Excellent Motor Refinement *

That really depends. It's no secret that Bafang was furious about their programming getting cracked open like an egg and made available to everyone. I'm sure in their eyes, getting back some control and "locking" their customers out is exactly what they wanted. It's not like there are many...

I've done that too. As a matter of fact I don't even know which thread I am currently in 🤣

BBS** Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay *Excellent Motor Refinement *

Couldn't agree more. Being that most of my settings have to be hinged around my rear hub, it really changes the whole philosophy of how the motor needs to work in order to play nice with my drivetrain, while also getting what I want out of it. Fine-tuning the programming is so important. A...

BBS** Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay *Excellent Motor Refinement *

Start current for both PAS and throttle are at 1% This is the recommendation in the hacker's guide for use on IGH bikes and I totally get it. Engagement is very smooth. So smooth that combined with the gear shift sensor I don't have to stop pedalling anymore to shift up gears. Because my start...

Question for my fellow road riders.

During the same ride tonight I had also encountered an SUV oncoming to a "T" style 3 way stop. He gets there way before me and stops, waits, and I'm already thinking "here we go, why is he still sitting there", then just before I decide to continue pedalling through the stop sign because he's...

Question for my fellow road riders.

That does kind of annoy me too. And then I am stuck thinking is it out of courtesy or are they just so inept behind the wheel.

Question for my fellow road riders.

I will try to make this short, even though anyone that knows me, knows I can talk for hours. TL/DR: Do you get annoyed by cars that refuse to pass you when in situations where it is absolutely perfectly safe for them to do so? I do about 80% of my riding at night, after dusk. It's the only...

Biktrix Beast 2 and sizing for the vertically challenged

30" but with sneakers on I can squeeze 31". I haven't measured my floor to seat height but when seated and not moving I'm on my toes with little in the ways of proper control. I can tilt the bike, keep one foot on the pedals and one foot flat on the ground which is a halfway decent work around...
