    Superdelite purchase

Congrats! I had to wait 6 months for mine... and it was worth it. I hope yours arrives sooner! -James-

    Superdelite purchase

No worries. I do it because as long as I go slow, and I always do, it may as well be Class 1. The speed of assist is the only difference (and you can get a Class 1 Superdelite). Unless e-bikes of any kind are not allowed, which is a bummer, but I'll stay out if that's the case. But yes...

    Superdelite purchase

I ride my Class 3 anyway - and just go slowly. There's really no way for anyone to tell the difference, unless one goes flying by at warp speed!

    Superdelite purchase

That's quite a dilemma, between two very different beasts! I'd definitely recommend test riding at least the Superdelite, and both bikes if it is at all possible. As for noises, there's the usual sound of the motor that any e-bike makes. Hard to describe, you just have to ride one I guess...

    Superdelite purchase

I'd like it smoothed out too, but even professional welders argue about the matter of grinding or not. I'm good either way, as long as it's a solid job. But having it smoothed out does look purty.

Aaahh! Yes, that's the only other one I've seen! You Europeans get all the good stuff! :)

    Superdelite purchase

I got the 56cm size, and I'm very happy with it (I'm 6'4"). This may be the first bike where I didn't have to pull the seat tube all the way up to the limit lol.

    Superdelite purchase

I must have missed it when I was shopping around. I saw 1 or 2 of theirs with rear racks, but not fully-suspended ebikes with frame-mounted rear racks. I still don't see one on their site, but maybe they don't offer that in the US?

    Superdelite purchase

One of the things that set the Delite apart for me was not just a rear rack, but a suspended rear rack. My butt appreciates the suspension, and my camera and computer appreciate the suspended rear rack. Less unsprung weight probably helps with the handling of the bike too. As far as I know...

Well, there's that lol. Maybe I should start looking now haha

A Few Questions from a Prospective Riese and Müller Buyer

Ha haaa! It has 625wh these days, and reckoned that if I start running out of juice, I'll just buy another battery and throw it in one of my panniers! Did another ride in the hills over lunch today - this bike is awesome!

A Few Questions from a Prospective Riese and Müller Buyer

Definitely! And with "more moving parts" than a plain ol' bicycle, it was important to me to have dealer support locally.

One more "bad road, nice view" shot. At least no cars are allowed on this road, a very welcome change from the usual around here. Griffith Observatory and Downtown Los Angeles.

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

I want Daylight Saving Time terminated forever! It's ridiculous going through this twice per year. I prefer staying on Standard Time, because Clock Noon is supposed to be somewhere close to Solar Noon (the point when the sun is highest in the sky). That's why we have time zones. And, the...

A Few Questions from a Prospective Riese and Müller Buyer

Ah! At last! My bike was built the week of Jan 9-13 and shipped by boat - I picked it up from LA Fly Rides yesterday March 11th. I ordered it back in September, so nearly 6 months total. It’s a Delite HS Rohloff, with the GX option, Fox suspension, full rear rack, front rack and bag, and...

Better all those bikes than the same number of cars. I also have to wonder if Tyler gets himself to that beach in a pollution-spewing 1960s VW bus...

Charging Ebikes on EV Charging stations

The idea of car drivers, electric or otherwise, bitching about bicyclists "taking something away from them" is bloody laughable. Mr. "I'm saving the environment with my Tesla" complaining about waiting in line at the charger, in his nice air-conditioned cage, behind a bicycle that consumes some...
