Wanted volunteers: Tributes for Custom Quiet Gears for Ultra

I can completely understand your wanting to get the info for a future improvements/new motor, but I cannot understand what the draw is for the end user. That is an expensive upgrade and comparing pros vs cons is loss of warranty vs slight noise improvement. But to each there own. I hope you...

Wanted volunteers: Tributes for Custom Quiet Gears for Ultra

How loud is the motor? This is a seemingly tough sell for me. $1000 to void the warranty and get what is hopefully a small decrease in noise. I hope it works out and changes the ebike world, but that seems pretty expensive for what is being sold as a small sound savings.

Kindernay observations and few questions for Pushkar

It would be great if the royal blood oil that is used with the Magura brakes would work for it too. I am 99% sure that it is mineral oil. Then one oil for both.

My WW Custom Design / Build Diary

I would like the 2 batteries vs 1 custom one. It would allow you to easily save 10 pounds of weight if going for a small trip, and it would be a lot easier to get a replacement for when the battery eventually goes out.

    Question on Kindernay

If flat, like Florida flat, I would highly consider a single speed with belt. The motor should have more then enough oomph to push you up the few bridges you might encounter. It would certainly simplify your drivetrain and your handlebars. My only concern would be if you wanted to gear it to be...

    Watt Wagons Scrambler Style Ebike

When you are building something that nobody else offers you have to ask yourself why. Are you the genius that has figured something out? Are you the fool doing something that others already know is a failed endeavor? I love the idea of a belt drive full suspension that focuses on lightweight...

Just Finished Up My X1 Ultra Installation

That does help, I was trying to figure out how if you were inputting the same power and going the same speed the motor was using more battery. That the 2300 watt motor was less efficient if used at a 750w level or lower. I assume level 1 and 2 probably don’t go too out much over that. So if...

Just Finished Up My X1 Ultra Installation

I do not understand that. To me level 1 and 2 never get much over 750 watt draw. So why would it be drawing so much more juice? Now if in level 5 and trying to accelerate up hill as much as possible it would make sense

    Helios

Before we were talking best and worse case scenarios for the bike. Can you give us an idea as to where you see them now? Excited about all the new features.

I have spent a little time looking at the colors. Does anyone have an idea which family would stand out more on the road at night, fluorescing or metallic? For me the color means less to me then the practicality of standing out at night.

Watt Wagons new display - colors and UI layout feedback

I find the egg rider unreadable in bright light and moving. I finally gave up and took it off. I am looking forward to the big colorful display. I used to want a small one because I thought it provided a stealth look. Now I just accept I am riding an ebike, who am I trying to fool?

Why Put 12 Speed Groups On Bafang Ultra Bikes?

I live in roanoke va and routinely climb mountains with more then 1000 feet vertical with the bbshd running at 1500 watts the whole time. I am just over 1200 miles running it like this. It gets hot but keeps chugging along. I run at 22 tooth main cog and 42 up front. I think the low gear would...

Why Put 12 Speed Groups On Bafang Ultra Bikes?

I have mentioned on a few posts. I put a 3 speed igh on an ebike build recently and have really enjoyed it. I like the 3 options way better then the 9 speed that was on it earlier. I love the perfect chain line and no derailer. With only 3 options I know to shift out of low at 14 mph. Out of...

    Rohloff vs. SA 3 Speed

I love the sa on my bbshd build, but if someone had a Rohloff for 600, I would have never looked at the sa.

Would love some advice on configuration for my upcoming UC Pro

I have a 3 speed on a bbshd build. It is a 42 in the front and a 22 cog in the back. I have found that I can keep up with the pedaling at 12 mph in low and 23 mph in high. After that I am just clown pedaling. I have some fairly large and steep hills and have not found anything I cannot go up...

UC Pro Step through frame prototype build pics. Painting / Decal / lights etc will be done in Boston.

It is sort of amazing what 2 kids and age do to you. I could truly care less what color the bike is. Having 2 choices makes me donate a second or 2 of my limited brain power to the decision. These decisions are usually left up to my 3 year old. Thus my current bike is rocking a unicorn bell and...

How easy is it to detach the secondary battery bracket. Is it plug and play? 95% of my riding would be just fine with 14ah. I would like to be able to add bracket back in for the occasional long rides.

I am with onlineaddy that it will be a pain to carry multiple keys and have to fumble around figuring out which one to use, but I can certainly understand the issues that pushkar is having. I personally would rather have multiple keys then proprietary batteries that lock me in to one vendor.

That will certainly help. I wish the tube was square to match up with the bracket. Then it wouldn’t look like it was sticking out so far. Probably not possible though. I know teeth. Noting about actually building a bike.

“Closer reach” is the geometry of the step through different?
