Pics of places you ride your Hydra

Had another nice ride on the Hydra today pretty steep and technical - above my level but still a lot of fun got a chance to try out the new 500c display and the Cush Cores. The CCs came in mighty handy especially on the way down Still not happy with high gear skipping on the way home. Chain...

    The "UNOFFICIAL" Hydra FAQ thread....

I want one, so in on a group buy assuming they aren't dribbling oil all over the place. As I said somewhere else, I got a very dismal view of the current batch from @pushkar when I picked up my bike a few weeks ago so I hope the VII is improved.

    Hydra has landed!

Ok Romo, I wasn't expecting that. Watched it. Loved it. 👍

    Hydra has landed!

I'm totally fine with a little frame protection and I think some slight spacing up front will help both the chain-stay wear issue as well as the high gear / high speed chain skipping problem. Agree that this bike is all about the motor. I think it's fair to ask whether this is a new issue and...

    Hydra has landed!

My new Hydra frame rubs in the exact same area as well. Not as severe as yours (yet) but worries me as I expect with the steep trail riding I do that I will be in lowest gears often where chain rub will be the worst. Will be very interested to see how your spacing efforts work out.

    Hydra has landed!

Wow, this is interesting and troubling @J10001 so you have none of the high gear(s) shifting issues with the Kindernay, but do have the chain wear on the chainstay. Crazy that this is the way the bike is delivered.

    Hydra has landed!

A centralized location would be a great thing. Some of us wanted a custom bike but did not overlay analyze every component and would benefit from that resource. I went Cush Core just because a friend a ride with is a huge fan. Tannus looked interesting as well. From the dual sport mc world I...

    Hydra has landed!

@loamoaf fantastic, so that's what manuals are for?!? 😂 I need you in my garage on a regular basis. I'm going to get working on this as soon as the Cush Core are in place. Thanks!

    Hydra has landed!

Thanks @loamoaf (again). A lot for me to learn here. I have the Manitou Mara on the back, not sure what 'flipping' I can do with that but will investigate that and the clutch adjustment. @Deacon Blues The high gear "skipping" issue was apparent immediately with my bike(s) and happened on flat...

    Hydra has landed!

Great info @loamoaf ! Yes, I had the high gear slipping issue right off the bat with the original medium bike. It was a very consistent and frustrating problem when pushing higher speeds - and not just when pedaling. I had a couple of LBSes take a look but it's only evident at higher speeds...

I'm just kind of amazed we chose the same color! :D

Pics of places you ride your Hydra

Thanks @slocoach the color is Northern Lights. The first frame I got was a lot darker tho, almost black, but then dark green in the light. When I swapped for my new frame the color (pic above) had been lightened quite a bit which I liked because I wanted it a little more green then black.

It's an expensive part to take a chance on. I wanted one and still want it.

    The "UNOFFICIAL" Hydra FAQ thread....

Yes, after the 'demo' bike time I had asked to upgrade to the Kindernay but @pushkar said that there had been so much leaking and that WW had started to see the issues that he gave the impression that he would not sell me one. I'm sure there is someone out there with one that has been fine, but...

    The "UNOFFICIAL" Hydra FAQ thread....

I got a very bad review of the Kindernay from @pushkar when I recently picked my bike up. He said the latest batch were now all leaking and that had reproduced the issue in the shop. I had wanted to switch to the Kindernay because of the chain skipping I had experienced with the Shimano, but...

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

No, I've been away traveling so haven't had a chance to ride it since that day. Curious to see if it recurs and the how and why of it.

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

Smart to go with the 29s Rome. Getting a set will be my first order of upgrade business for mine. I think for any riding in 'not flat' terrain, the 29s will provide better rolling capability and a slightly higher bb/crank height which is a plus. I woukd have changed my order from the 'demo' to...
