Shifting is fine. Getting the smallest sprockets to hold enormous torque at speeds I shouldn't be going is the challenge. The skipping I'm referring to is when the chain jumps a tooth on the same sprocket. It's not jumping to another sprocket. I'm sure we're asking too much of bicycle components.

@loamoaf, I believe you are correct. My derailleur looks like the MT8000 and no adjustment will eliminate the chain skipping the 11, 13 & 15T sprockets at high speed. Only the Garbaruk is in stock, but I'm not a fan of aluminum for a part that gets bent easily. I'll give up my 51T sprocket...

14 Ah is the capacity for 20-80% charge. We can certainly go beyond that. I think that setting is just conservative so the remaining capacity calculation doesn't leave you stranded. It can be changed to 17 Ah if you're feeling lucky. :)

The battery management system connects wirelessly by Bluetooth. The motor controller is separate and connects with the programming cable. You can even connect to the battery when it's removed from the bike.

No, they're from the BMS Bluetooth app. You have to sideload a sketchy app from a sketchy website and not touch any settings that would destroy your battery. You've been warned.

I initially tried the vacuum syringe method too but couldn't get a good seal and actually made the brake worse. Working the brake lever to draw in oil was a last-ditch attempt and I'm surprised it worked.

I put a couple drops of mineral oil in the reservoir fill hole and vigorously worked the brake lever until it disappeared. Repeated this about 10 times and now the front brake is firm like the rear. No guarantees this will work for every situation but it's worth a shot. This method didn't work...

It would be less apparent with higher current cells or more cells in parallel. What is your wife riding? I didn't see anything in the Hydra BMS settings that would pertain to this.

Found my reason for both shutdowns. Wasn't under voltage after all. So the question remains: Why is the motor controller configured to draw more current than the BMS allows?

Some BMS settings of interest pertaining to shutdown. Also of interest, this BMS tracks remaining amp-hours. This would be very nice to bring out to a future display as a huge improvement over the voltage based gauge.
