    Magura front brake shudder

I'll try these pads next to address shuddering under heavy braking and squealing under light braking. Might even be able to change them without removing the caliper. Even the Magura Sport pads squeal under light braking as they are still semi-metallic. And yes, they are degreased and bedded in.

    Magura front brake shudder

Yes, mine do it too. I've read it doesn't happen with the single piece pads. The downside with those is you have to remove the caliper to change them. On a related note, I've eliminated squealing under light pressure with organic pads from Jagwire. They definitely have a softer feel but can...

Worth the wait, Hydra is here.

I stripped out one WW crank arm not realizing there was a washer stuck in there. I got the arm off using an ARES 15036 puller. It has thin hooks to fit behind the crank arm. I think I had it in the two-jaw configuration.

Source of 48t steel chain ring

To maintain the same top speed and avoid using the 11T and 13T sprockets, you'll need a 60T chainring. (44/11=60/15) 130 BCD is the standard spider size on the Bafang Ultra. I don't know of any high quality chainrings in this size but there are plenty of dubious quality on Amazon and...

    Hydra as a commuter?

Aluminum from a German online seller. The price was less than direct from SQlab.

    DCP-18

The wheel diameter settings are based on a 2.1" wide tire, so you'll have to cross reference circumference if you're running a different width.

    Hydra as a commuter?

The handle bar clamp should be 35 mm. I didn't have any luck finding 35 mm swept bars. Swept bars need a longer stem to maintain steering stability, so there's no reason to stick with 35 mm. My wrists are happy with the SQlab 3OX 16° high rise. I went with a 70 mm, 35° stem.

Worth the wait, Hydra is here.

Thank you! You solved my embarrassing creak! I had checked all other linkages, the motor mounts, the headset and the battery mounts. I was sure a carbon fiber fastener was creaking but it was just resonating. Interestingly, we both took delivery of our Hydras around the same time. My creak just...

    Battery Charging Port Differences

Maybe damaged but definitely the wrong shape. That battery charge port is a Cusmade 1103B when it should be an 1103A

    Battery Charging Port Differences

My frame and battery ports are the same. My charger plug looks the same as yours. It seems like the wrong port was put on your battery.

Your software login will just start working one day. I checked randomly for three weeks until I could get in.

Hydra has its first glitch, not sure of the solution.

The first thing I would try is unplugging your brake switches. Maybe one is stuck on.

Well, that's annoying. Mine is on a 10 year old laptop.

Rocking the display connector while pulling it apart makes it much easier to separate the waterproof seal. Be very careful aligning the connector when plugging it back in. The pins are easily damaged.

I hope you receive your programming cable soon so you can experiment to your heart's desire. I'm done with that after 10 iterations to find settings I like.

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

I currently have torque set to 30A for all assist levels (based on the cell rating for the Hydra 52V battery). Max speed torque is set to 32 km/h for eco and 99 for sport assist levels. All other settings are set to their minimum for all assist levels. While climbing a steep incline, Eco PAS 1...

    Luna X2 Impressions (Hydra Comparison)

It involves soldering wires directly to the BMS circuit board where a connector is missing and also to the gold terminals on the case. I'll post details when I have it working reliably. Currently, assist is lost over every bump. If you leave the output disabled for a long time, the Bluetooth...

    Luna X2 Impressions (Hydra Comparison)

You can disable the Hydra 52V battery output in the BMS app to avoid the spark. I've wired up and enabled the switch function in my 52V battery but the spring contacts in the battery cradle are unreliable on rough terrain. I tried to filter the brief disconnections with a capacitor but still...
