Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

Yes, I just stripped those wires, twisted them together and soldered. These are the P+ (Power positive) and PL (Power Lock) pins which must be connected to enable the controller.

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

I have successfully made an X1 programming cable. First you must start with a genuine FTDI FT232R USB to serial adapter. The counterfeit chips cannot be reprogrammed. I purchased this cable. You can also build your own with instructions found elsewhere on the Internet. SparkFun and Adafruit...

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

Hello evixone, Thank you immensely for your login bypass crack. It works perfectly. It also passes more virus scanners than the actual X1 Tool! XTOOL.exe virus check results x1Tool_1_0_10.exe virus check results I'm not sure how long those links will be valid for. Edit: The network...

    WW 52V Battery Issue

I've lost another 0.1V off both my packs since my last last post 8 days ago. That's only about 1% according to a chart I found online.

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

Both Rico Czernig and Krasnodar Jandrijevic of Innotrace also work at SSP Safety System Products. I'd say Innotrace is a side gig. Innotrace affiliated websites innotrace.de and xembedded.de are dead. I hope they have the decency to make the code public when they completely give up.

    WW 52V Battery Issue

I've only lost 0.3V from my WW 52V battery over the last month. The same for my custom 52V, 20Ah battery with the same BMS. I charge to 80% (55V) for storage because I'm lazy and that's the minimum setting for my charger. My packs would take years to self-discharge to the hardware undervoltage...

    Smooth Tune vs. Archon X1

The X1 can be programmed for near instant pedal assist by setting "sensitive torque level" to zero. This is a pure torque sensing mode that ignores the cadence sensor. The downside is power tops out at 1500W in PAS 3 and above. I'm going to try reintroducing some "sensitivity torque level" to...

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

I've attached the network traffic dump during a failed login attempt. I've also attached the memory dump from the FTDI FT232R chip on the X1 programming cable. The format is the XML template for the FT_PROG tool.

    Hydra occasional power loss

Does the speedometer drop to zero when this happens? Is the power switch on the side of the frame functional? I introduced this problem by enabling the power switch on my 52V battery. The gold spring contacts in the cradle aren't reliable. I'm wondering if the 48V batteries might experience the...

That's happening to me too. I imagine they broke something server side.

First ride with the Archon X1 upgrade!

Their 2300W controller uses UART protocol and will not communicate with this battery. If you can enable the battery output, then it will work fine. A CAN version of the controller is supposedly being developed.

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

No, I only ordered the single free color. The Trevor van Riemsdyk Edition decals were free. Perhaps Watt Wagons tested their fitment on my frame and left them on?

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

One year in and my Hydra with the Archon X1 controller is still going strong. I opened the motor and replaced the yellow Bafang grease with Lubriplate Synxtreme HD2 calcium sulfonate synthetic grease. It's supposed to outperform lithium. I'll check on it in another year. The motor seems quieter...

    Ultra motor continues to run

This sounds like an intermittent short circuit between the throttle wire and a 5V wire. Especially since the problem doesn't happen in PAS 0. The short could be in the harness or the motor. Look for any wires pinched during installation. The silicone insulation on the motor wires can split when...

    Magura front brake shudder

Good call. That's definitely the better way to do it without having to realign the caliper.

PAS setting on the DPC18 display

Oh, you just have to hold the PAS+ button to switch between Eco and Sport. The default mode setting is which one you start with on power up.

Check out what the BAT-SAFE XL design incorporates. - Venting through a flame arresting, soot filtering medium. It looks like fiberglass but could be something with a higher temperature rating - High temperature silicone sealing gasket - Double wall construction with high temperature...

PAS setting on the DPC18 display

The Eco/Sport version can't adjust the number of PAS levels. Eco is PAS 1-5 and Sport is PAS 6-10

Worth the wait, Hydra is here.

I'll use Eco 3 for the steepest climbs but it is a challenge keeping enough weight on the front wheel for steering. I'm usually on Eco 2 for technical trails. I use sensitivity torque level 0 and motor torque level 0 for all assist levels. This gives smooth, nearly instantaneous assist when...
