Very nice review and glad you’re enjoying the allant, it’s a wonderfully capable e-bike.
If you come around to it, swap the tires for the Schwalbe Hurricane tires. Their extremely fast on pavement and ride great on off-road trails and gravel. You can air them down even more to their recommended...

Makes sense and I’m glad.
The local Orbea and Cube Bosch e-bike dealer here told me about the delay last month. Maybe he hasn’t followed up with them in the last few months. I’ll bring it to his attention to touch base with Bosch to inquire about the status of those online training course...
Not all dealers that sell Bosch bikes have the diagnostic tools to do it. Many do but not all.
Each LBS and the bike mechanics have to take and complete an online Bosch training course and they get certified and the diagnostic tools are then sent to the LBS.
Despite the course being online...
Wow, 35k miles on one Bosch motor!
No maintenance on the gears inside or anything?
I always wondered what’s the lifespan of the Bosch motors and hoped it was atleast 15-20k but 35k miles sounds fantastic.
I hope yours isn’t the exception and we all get that type of mileage out of our Bosch...
I wear a bandana to cover my nose and mouth in the warmer months to protect against insects and bees.
I don’t feel a COVID mask is necessary while I’m riding my e-bike. Police in my area seem to agree as they haven’t fined me this winter when they’ve seen me riding unmasked. Here it’s...
What a nasty and rude comment.
Personal attacks like that have no place on EBR.
This is a friendly forum.
Please refrain from making personal attacks against other members, thank you.
The tires are 35mm so I’m guessing the psi range listed on the sidewall is somewhere between 55-85.
I might be mistaken though.
But at 60psi you’re probably on the very low end of the recommended psi range of the tire. Which is fine.
I’m 140lbs and my tires are 62mm wide and I keep my tires...
My trek with a gen4 speed motor is no where near as loud as the DB e-bikes in the video.
Not sure what is going on there.
Is your trek with gen4 speed motor as loud as the DB e-bikes?
Nice review good to see diamondback producing e-bikes.
Just an FYI though Bosch powered Trek e-bike lights can be turned off but has to be done by the dealer. I and several others on the forums had our dealers activate that feature so we can toggle our lights on/off.
My gen4 Bosch speed has...
Beautiful e-bike with top spec components!
IGH, Bosch mid-drive, DTswiss rims, robust frame, powder coated paint, dual battery, high quality suntour suspension, the bike has everything. Very impressive.
Again you don’t have any facts when it comes to e-bikes and neither do I or anyone else.
We have different point of views and advice.
If my criticism of hub drives hurts your feelings maybe you should leave a public internet forum and retreat to a safe space or echo chamber.
People would be...
You’re very strong Richard and I have no doubt that you will beat C. I’m very happy the prognosis is good and you will beat the odds for sure.
The positive energy all your posts emit on these forums always puts a smile on my face and I’m glad that you’re out their enjoying all life has to offer...
My suggestion for EBR is to convert the “off-topics” thread section of EBR into a section for analog non-electric bike discussion only.
Quite a few of us still have and ride our analog bikes and discussion about those often overlap with our e-bikes.
The whole trek Rail series is known to be a very good climber and very stable on single track, hence the name since it feels like it’s on rails.
I believe the trek rail won e-mtb of the year for 2020.
Most treks are usually very reliable but there are always a very small percentage that...
