$500-$1000 for an ebike vehicle rack? I Don't Think So...

It's gonna be a while till I have the free time to make one, as I'm currently already in a large project.

$500-$1000 for an ebike vehicle rack? I Don't Think So...

The problem that I see is that it's held in with the straps, one of those shifts and loosens up, you lose the bike since the entire support is reliant upon equal tension. There's nothing solid to hold it vertically. You're right, this one isn't for me. My plan when I have the time is to build...

Lots of 1 star reviews talking about missing/incorrect hardware, broken welds, damaged packing during shipping.

So what's your other hobbies or interests?

I have a good many hobbies, I do wood working, collect vintage tools, electronic design, working on cars, but food has always been one, not just out of necessity but because I enjoy it. That's why we're starting the food trailer. I just whipped this up today for desert tonight. It's a "true"...

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

I'm posting this because the wife and I just got tickets as our anniversary gift to ourselves this year. Concert is in Pittsburgh, and it's probably the last (and only) time I'll get to see him live. His music has been part of my life since 7th grade when I first heard Shock the Monkey. If...

    Watch Charging Scooter Explode

I wonder how many fires are related to charging the battery while still connected to the machine vs charging the battery separately. Every battery fire video I've seen the battery is always still on the machine.

    Fulfilling a dream

I really liked I hadn't looked at Crutchfield's website for years, so I was really surprised at how well it was laid out and how easy it was to get a complete system specifically for my truck. That's always been the biggest hassle, which harness, which dash place adapter, which speakers. It...

    Fulfilling a dream

We got one of the tank mounts installed and tested today. Also the compressor cabinet is all but finished. That was the worst of the damage and needed to be completely rebuilt. The shelf for the broiler showed up yesterday after it not being delivered last week. I had to cancel it and...

I've bought several spools of solder from craigslist. I also traded something for several other spools. I have enough to outlast my kids. Leadfree solder sucks, it doesn't wick properly to remove it, and it can create tin whiskers under certain conditions causing electronic failures. I...

Maybe you're doing this, don't know, but I do XT60's and most other large connections by tinning the wire first, then filling the terminal on the connector with solder. While it's still hot and applying heat from the iron, you slip in the tinned wire, hold it there for a few seconds then remove...

I have a hot air SMD station already, I use it sometimes, not very often. Mostly on the bench I use a Weller station with a very fine tip. I've been trying to find a solder sucker station for a reasonable price and that works. So far, that seems impossible. I use a butane torch from Harbor...

It's raining today so no working outside on the trailer. Decided to sit with my wife while she works on something and terminate the trailer light connectors with weather proof connectors. Tried out my new soldering iron, I'm impressed with it, heats fast, and maintains heat while soldering.
