Statement Regarding Potential CPSC Ebike Law Preemption of 3-class Legislation

Ken, please correct me if I’m wrong, but haven‘t you mentioned at some point that you have a gas powered ”bicycle” that is no longer legal to ride on streets in Colorado? If so, is this the true reason you’re pushing for this? If so, I doubt many states if any will ever allow this type of...

Statement Regarding Potential CPSC Ebike Law Preemption of 3-class Legislation

Ken, you have skated around the concerns of many, that the elimination of the 3 class system will potentially result in municipalities and land managers banning all ebikes on bike trails, paths, and MUPs. Can you state for certain that this will not be a possibility? To me, it seems like you...

Statement Regarding Potential CPSC Ebike Law Preemption of 3-class Legislation

You are aware auto and motorcycle manufacturers have to produce vehicles that meet different US (and foreign) requirements? Mainly related to emissions regulations, such as California‘s CARB requirements. The car or motorcycle you purchase in California is not the same as the one you would...

This is also true if you are involved in an accident (your fault or not) while riding your non legal eBike on a bike path, trail, or MUP. If there’s an injury, law enforcement, insurers, and litigators will perform a thorough investigation...

    Rambo Rebel Derailleur hanger?

Not surprisingly, Rambo is not listed and I doubt the hanger has a part number printed on it. Their best bet is likely to contact Rambo directly.

Statement Regarding Potential CPSC Ebike Law Preemption of 3-class Legislation

You honesty believe local municipalities/land managers won’t have the ability to restrict eBike access on these trails, paths, and MUP’s?

Statement Regarding Potential CPSC Ebike Law Preemption of 3-class Legislation

If your “crusade” is successful, I fear it will result in many local/city land managers deciding to all out ban ebikes on bike trails, paths and MUPs, versus limiting access to class 1 bikes. Please step back and consider all potential outcomes of what you are petitioning for.

    Rambo Rebel Derailleur hanger?

Sorry, but it is very unlikely you’ll find something aftermarket. Since it’s probably a Chinese “no-name” (I.e. sold by multiple brands) frame, you might find something on AliExpress.

Is Cruise Control feature considered Class 1 E-bike? (eg. not throttle?)

I personally do not need or want a throttle on my bicycles. Same goes for “cruise control”. Others feel differently. Choice is good!

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

The screws/bolts coming loose as noted in other posts as well, further points to a design or materials issue to me. If designed properly, they should not be coming loose at the rate they are.

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

It looks to me that Specialized did not perform an adequate FMEA on the frame assembly and/or did not perform adequate structural modeling/testing. Just my opinion from what I’ve seen in related posts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failure_mode_and_effects_analysis
