    HYDRA CONVERTED FOR STREET USE

On the street and hard pack fire roads it will be fine. Eventually I want to swap out the Mattoc Pro for a Fox fork so the components match.

    HYDRA CONVERTED FOR STREET USE

I’m pleased with it. Tires are beefy enough that the bike doesn’t look awkward.

    HYDRA CONVERTED FOR STREET USE

Don‘t get too excited, just changed the tires to Schwalbe Super Moto X in 27.5 X 2.8 On the 40mm Duroc’s they have a nice rounded profile. Switching to a 50mm Duroc would widen them a tad with a slightly fatter profile but to me it’s not worth the coin. Getting my replacement rear brake today...

    Hydra as a commuter?

I’m going to hang on to them. Might do a second set of wheels for the bike.

    Hydra as a commuter?

It does very well on the pavement. The FS soaks up the bumps and gives a nice comfy ride. Plus the suspension is adjustable. On the street I run the front fork and rear shock a little firmer vs the trails. It’s actually quite nimble and fast! Big thing is the tires. I’m switching to Schwalbe...

    Hydra as a commuter?

Hydroformed Alum frame and built like a tank. Definitely not light at 81 lbs. Listed as 4000w in race mode. 72V battery. Add Gates Belt Drive, Brooks saddle and more street oriented tires and you have my commuter...

    Hydra as a commuter?

For a pure commuter my money goes with this bike. For 7K plus shipping you get 72V, 40 mph top speed, regen braking, inverted front suspension fork and more. Plus the fit and finish is amazing! Saw one at my local LBS and the bike is a work of art. Has throttle and pedal assist.

    Hydra as a commuter?

I’m converting my Orange Crush Hydra to a street bike. Ordered Schwalbe Super Moto‘s 27.5X2.8 which will be replacing the trail MTB tires. Might run a small rear fender if I can find one I like.

New X Tour / Crosstour - anyone place a pre order???

It’s my understanding the bike has both PAS and throttle, just like the Hydra.

New X Tour / Crosstour - anyone place a pre order???

I’d like to have more info on the bike, like what components come with it. Who makes the suspension fork and what rear shock is being used. Hopefully @pushkar can chime in and answer our questions.

New X Tour / Crosstour - anyone place a pre order???

You can easily add one if he doesn’t. I may sell my Buzzraw for this bike. Not sure yet.

Got my replacement wheel for the Hydra from Nextie

I’m thinking of something that slides over the valve stem and then use the little gold nut to hold it in place.

Got my replacement wheel for the Hydra from Nextie

Unfortunately no idea. You can get the wheel weights from the Nextie website.

Got my replacement wheel for the Hydra from Nextie

Last pic shows how I mounted the magnet to the wheel for the speed sensor. Isn’t pretty but it works perfectly. Really can’t see it unless you look closely at the wheel.

Got my replacement wheel for the Hydra from Nextie

Finally got my replacement wheel from Nextie. They didn’t like the design of the original wheel so they redesigned it and sent me a new wheel for free. Still uses a DT Swiss 350 hub but it looks beefier and much stronger vs the first wheel. Check out the pics. Old wheel has the tire on it. New...

The sweet tire/wheel setup for the Hydra

Surley Edna’s 26X4.3 on 80mm Sunringle Mulfut SL. Chainline is perfect and I can hit all gears without tire rub.

    Magura EStop brake issue

Same here. My guess is air got in the system somehow. I just need to figure out where.

My Monster Truck Hydra - Vee Tire Snowshoe 2XL’s

I can only comment on my experiences with him. I have two bikes and they have none of the issues you mentioned. Chain skipping is an adjustment issue. Shut downs are because the rider was most likely in the wrong gear. Spider issue never heard of. Overall his bike are excellent quality although...
