After riding and adjusting...observations: * The Luna C965 (equivalent) color display is worth it. * setting the speed limit is a bit bizarre. You can set it up to 45 kpm and the next increment that would be 46 kpm goes to 99 kpm. * 5 levels of assist and with the 52V battery at level 5 the...

I've finished the conversion of the Titanium 750W 52V ebike with Rohloff IGH. First impressions....what a very nice ebike, I already know the Rohloff is the "last word" in gear boxes....smooth as silk!!!!! :D. Once I've had a chance to shake it down, learn the Luna control set-up and make...

Some would say because I'm a glutton for punishment. But...I have a suspension front fork sitting in my office and I'll swap them out if I get sick of the stiff ride. For now (??????) I'm going to try the carbon fork and see how it goes. Much lighter. Court J.

    My Next Build

No doubt. All I can comment on are the 4 bikes I've purchased. The combined mileage on the 3 first bikes is just shy of 10,000 miles. I can also say that they are pretty hard miles. Even the paved roads in SW New Hampshire have significant problems with cracks, uneven pavement, frost heaves...

    My Next Build

OK...the bike arrived yesterday and I basically stripped it. I checked the fit of the BBS02 on the BB and it slipped in without any problems. That would have been the only "snag" in the installation. Since it fits without any issues installing the BBS02 and all the components of the BBS02...

I'm not sure what you mean? I've read many reviews of ebikes bicycles with IGH's. I'm pretty sure the Rohloff can easily handle the output. The only issue is shifting under load which can be properly managed. https://optibike.com/optibike-simbb-29r/ Court J.

No. I've gotten so use to using the brake cut-off as a "clutch" on my other bikes that I don't even have to think to clutch when I shift now, it's 2nd nature. I just adjust the left hand brake so the mechanical braking occurs later in the brake pull allowing me to engage the electric cut-off...

All the components are ready as pictured.....note the bike in the frame. This is my first conversion...a 36V BBS02 500W. I'm replacing the battery. NCRB cells in the shark. I found out yesterday that BD has finally shipped the bike, it should be here by Monday or Tuesday. I will take...

From Outer Space Comes The Marrs Ebikes

I don't see the bike in it at all. I see it has pedals but the placement relative to the riders waist make it impossible to pedal without severe strain on the knees. Why would anyone want to pedal it anyway? I suppose if someone doesn't want to buy an electric motorcycle it's the next best...

New Build Considerations - Input Desired

I'm not sure where you came up with this idea of regular repairs and maintenance? I have 3 installed BBS02 with a total of 7,000+ miles with no issues at all. The latest converted bike just flipped 2,800 miles and it runs like day 1. With any mechanical device there is always the possibility...

    Easy Motion Battery Rebuild

When you buy anything custom built you hitch your wagon to that standard. Competition is the Mother's milk of lowering cost and the generic battery systems have to compete, the custom designs don't. It's not a "rip-off" when you have many more options to choose. If cost is a priority, custom...

    Bike for an old fella!

My opinion, look for a mid-drive bike. You have to purchase a bike that conforms to the regulations in the country or countries he's going to ride in. If it's only going to be ridden in France I'd purchase the bike from a dealer in France. Look for closeouts or bikes on sale. You probably...

    Bike for an old fella!

What is his weight? Is he in any shape to peddle a bike? You mention plenty of hills, are they gentle slopes or fairly steep? People have the impression that electric bikes are very capable at traversing all terrain, but hill climbing presents a complication if the rider can't provide a...
