    Hydra has landed!

@kwseattle sick, hopefully you can get riding without any issues today. Beautiful and sunny out on the east side of the lake and it's holding out tomorrow too! I'll have to check out Jay's Hydra thread to see the throttle, thanks. My Garbaruk came in and it looks snazzy - you definitely want the...

    Hydra has landed!

@kwseattle where did you find out about the hall sensor mod?? I've been [lazily] hunting around for a solution for a slimmer, smoother throttle and designing/printing one out isn't an issue, but it wouldn't be worth the effort if the response from the sensor wasn't nice and smooth like the X1...

@Fast n' Furious if they already had the store set up to avoid that issue then it's sounding more like an assembly error. How many people who have received their bike earlier in the year have posted pictures of theirs ride where it shows the chainring? I think it would be smart if QC from WW on...

Have you seen the revised Helios?

bahahaha holy jeez this man has no restraint. You should book a flight to MA and visit WW yourself! I hear New England weather this time of year is almost as lovely as ours in the PNW, you're probably tired of that island breeze and sun no doubt?

    Hydra has landed!

Here you can see a couple different images of the chainring on the outside of thespider - one on a fatbike spider the other on a standard. There are people who put them inboard like yours is but those a rigid with different rear geometry. I wouldn't ride it without at least flopping the...

This is making a little more sense now - I think - if yours came with fatbike spacing I can see why he'd include the wider tires and why the chainline is off with the standard spider. You should've received a fatbike spider with your frame, not sure if WW offered an option on the spider...

    Hydra has landed!

@TDA78 sweet, I didn't learn of it's compatability with the MX000 shifters for 11spd until after I ordered the M8000 derailleur so I had to go all-in on the Garbaruk - I think if you can get a hold of it the M8100 derailleur is definitely the cheaper option. Doesn't look as cool though :p I...

@Fast n' Furious ahh I see, I actually had to read up as I wasn't sure and the D1x hooks up to existing derailleurs, it's the Di2 that's Shimano's fully electronic system, and the new AXS has the advantage of being wireless & standalone. I hate wires enough that I'm trying to extend the cables...

    Hydra has landed!

This is when you take an old bed sheet and some paracord and make a sail! Think of the extended range! If you get blown away I'll keep your Hydra warm and safe for your return The up-side is tomorrow & wednesday are supposed to be no rain and even a little sun, so I'm taking a couple days off...

@Jon A nice find on the article, makes more sense that it would be a little outboard of the middle cog. That ticking on the larger cog can also cause skipping because the cogs have ramps on them to grab the chain when you shift. Some cassettes have different patterns or more aggressive ramps...

    Hydra has landed!

Nice! Glad to hear it wasn't too tricky to put in. You can follow this Park Tools guide to make sure your're all good - they limit screws & indexing should be good if you were able to swap the cage with the derailleur on the bike (wheel & chain off, cable still attached), otherwise you'll have...

    Watt Wagons CrossTour Reviews

@Deacon Blues you're right the cage won't do anything about the chainline being out of wack. That's gonna be handled by moving the chainring up front outward. The chain should be perfectly straight on the middle cog ~2mm outboard of the middle cog as per the article linked by Jon below. Do you...

@Lsthrz you can see here on Garbaruk's illustration what's going on with the derailleur when we're using a cassette with a wider range than it can handle. Don't get the Ceramicspeeds I suggested those a joke! If you want to burn money and be cool get the Kogel's - they're about the same price...

    Watt Wagons CrossTour Reviews

The derailleurs are kind of 'dumb' - they only do what the shifter tells it to, and the shifter determines the pull ratio. It's a little confusing because of the wording on the product pages, but 11spd shimano shifters will work with their 12spd derailleurs on an 11spd cassette since the ratios...

    Watt Wagons CrossTour Reviews

@Lsthrz my suggestion to @pushkar would be to not ship any bikes with the M8000-RD & a cassette with a tallest cog larger than 46T (he's already stated this what they're doing) and then go back to the 11-50's when M8100-RD becomes more widely available again. Since Shimano is nice enough that...

@Lsthrz yowza I knew about the OneUp though I have come across a couple in stock in some online shops, but I didn't realize the Wolf Tooth is discontinued - bummer but it makes sense that in a pre-squeezed supply chain world you'd just as easily replace your 8000 with an 8100 when you replace...

    Watt Wagons CrossTour Reviews

@Fast n' Furious the range on the 8000 derailleur won't be able to cover the 9-46T and get full wrap on the 9T without having clearance issues on the 46T. The 8100 derailleur can and works with the 8000 shifter, or you can swap out the pulley cage with a Wolf Tooth Wolfcage, Garbaruk, OneUp...

    The "UNOFFICIAL" Hydra FAQ thread....

@Lsthrz yea this is the only thing that concerns me, but I've also read some threads on other forums with happy riding on them for thousands of kms. I'd like to see how the VII compares, and am interested to know what the cause of the issues with the XIV batch that leaking was - simple bad seal...

    The "UNOFFICIAL" Hydra FAQ thread....

I contacted them a few weeks ago inquiring about the fat hub, they said they're shifting focus to the 7 speed, not manufacturing any more fat hubs & saving the few they have in stock for warranty support. No plans currently on bringing it back currently due to low demand. I was under the...

    Hydra has landed!

I believe WW uses Miranda cranks which should just be a humble 8mm allen key. Chainring bolts should be an allen key as well - mine are 6mm on one side & 5mm on the other.
