Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Thanks for the info. Himiway doesn't have an off switch on the battery. All I can do is remove it, which I've tried. I generally charge it every 3-4 days. I ride 15-20 a day as a "routine" ride. Don't use a lot of battery, so I usually just top it off when I get to half. I always keep half in...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Well, no. I can't turn the lights on, BUT . . . on the capacitor thought. I've noticed that 3 times now after it sits for 3 days. Not 2 days, THREE days, it will turn on and I can ride it ONCE, although once I got 3 days in a row out of it. That's with a fully charged battery attached, but not...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Two weeks have come and gone. The only thing Himiway can say is we'll ship them when they can. So, I wait. Weird how pre-purchase research finds none of this out and NOW, I find all sorts of stories about their lack of customer service. It's like our Golden Retriever that was supposed to be the...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

I appreciate that. This supply chain thing is driving us all nuts. I've got to replace a few boards on my deck. Can't find a 2x6 anywhere. It's nuts. BUT, I've got TP! It's a little encouraging that the parts issue is widespread. I felt like Himiway was just blowing me off. And yes, I knew I was...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

There are 6 terminals at the bottom of the battery. The male terminals on the bike side and the battery has female. 3 rows of 2 that are stamped with a number. 1,2&3 are on the left side and 4,5,&6 on the right. The single diagnostic Himiway had me do, we check the voltage between 2&5 on the...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Even if you’re not able to “read” a schematic, most DIYers can glean a little info. Like is the thermal sensor in the battery or the controller? Something to let you walk through the problem. I have good power. Step one. From there I know nothing. Does it go through a “boot up” system check. I’d...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

I realize a schematic of the motor would be useless to most people but a little bit of the “shin bone’s connected to the knee bone” would sure be helpful. I’m a handy guy and don’t generally mind doing my own work, but at least with cars there are repair manuals. This wait a month for a part and...

53 volts when it’s failing. That makes me think the heat shutoff is elsewhere.

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

That’s what I’d expect and I wish I could get a schematic. They expect us to do our own maintenance but don’t give us much to work with. BUT, if it were heat, I’d expect a shut down in the middle of the ride, not just when I restart. Unless it’s part of a system check on start. Man I wish I...

So, will the controller cover that or is it in the battery?

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

So this is part of the battery? I'm still waiting on my parts being shipped "ASAP" - my expectations are low. BUT, I've noticed that if I take it off charge at night, I can usually get it to turn on ONCE in the morning. I've been getting my shoes and helmet on and most the time tap the power...

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Mystery continues. Today it started up. I was able to take it for a ride, so long as I stayed within pushing distance of home. I took it over some bumps, dips, etc and through all the gears/assist levels and throttle. It was like nothing every happened. Got it home and tried it again. It's...

I don't feel like I have a lot of options really. Indefinite backorder is not encouraging.

That was just the delivery time from Amazon. I didn't look other than the provided link. Thanks. I'll still pick up a can.

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

I let it set several hours. Voltage readings on both the bike without battery and the battery remain at 53 volts. Put battery back on and it turned on - ONCE. Lights worked, assist levels worked. Everything appeared to work, but before I could on it to ride, it timed out again and won't come...

Not that I'm aware of, but I'm getting power out of it.

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

That would explain it. Back in the day, we used it after a car flooded out. It dispersed moisture.

Just died. Doesn't turn on. No power. No screen - Broke AGAIN

Thank you all for your help. It gives me things and ideas, but so far nothing. Oddly (to me) I have 53 volts on the BIKE SIDE, with no battery installed between 3&6 and 2&5. 1.5 volts between 1&4. This power is stored in the controller? Battery had been off for just a few mintues. 2&5 were...
