    Damned eBay! Now what?

I've been hosed too, big time! I sold a tow bar that had seen better days (we had used it to pull a CRV all over creation behind the motorhome), saying it was in "fair" condition. Sold it for about half of what it was worth (600.) This thing weighed like 75lbs, so it had a pretty fair amount of...

    Damned eBay! Now what?

Yup, not denying there's some risk involved. I've weighed that risk with the options I have to market some of the stuff I'd like to sell. Sure, I'd LOVE to use Craigslist or one of the others (like Facebook Marketplace) to do what I need to do, but there is NO WAY I could 1. Have as big a...

    Damned eBay! Now what?

Been thinning out my garage using ebay. Had the same thoughts about my providing my bank info. but I believe they have me bent over. There is the thought regarding opening an account strictly for this purpose, and keeping it pretty much empty.... In the last 5-6 weeks, I've shipped highly...

possible list of owners location and their bikes?

We're a day behind you, but we're not supposed to get the 4". Just a low of 35. Hoping to avoid a frost. Fruit trees are ready to pop. A hard frost would destroy any chance of that happening.... Been riding every day for the last week or so. I'm good with the idea of a couple of days off....

Can over heating cause permanent damage?

I haven't messed with one, but I understand it's buried in the windings.

Can over heating cause permanent damage?

Some of the newer Bafang geared hubs do use an internal sensor....so you may not have one on the spokes.

Are newer hub motors as capable as mid drives?

On the bold, there's your big hint as to the results of any testing you do. You might get some fantastic results with a geared hub - but only until/unless it overheats. The mid drive, with it's available granny gear, generally won't have that issue. But that's not saying it's perfect either...

Can over heating cause permanent damage?

I like the idea of fixing the speedo as well. Then if the problem continues, it's time to have a look inside the motor. My bet is you won't have to look hard. The smell is going to answer any questions you might have....

    Ebike upgrade

USUALLY, you can install about any motor you want, as long as the new motor width matches what the bike needs/what's in use now. That's just a matter of lacing up the motor with a new set of spokes. This bike, with it's cast wheels, isn't going to let you do that....

handlebar rise or longer goose neck?

I generally have to do something here to get the upright riding position I prefer every time I get a new bike. I've tried both methods, one at a time, and both at the same time, and to me, for my riding style, find it doesn't make one bit of difference how I do it. The target height is the...

Level 1 cadence vs torque sensing

Torque sensing requires 2 parts basically. The sensor, which is pretty easy to source out and not terribly expensive. Then there's the controller (one that's able to use input from the actual sensor, most controllers will not), which is much more difficult as the only place you're going to get...

RadRover with no motor power and won't push backwards

I'm a little confused here. First you say it's locked when trying to move backward, then you say there are no grinding noises when pushed forward/backwards? "when I try pushing the Rad backward, it's like the rear hub is locked. When pushed forward or backwards, there are no grinding noises."...

    Ebike upgrade

Had a minute, and wondering what the heck a wtva ebike looked like, I did a search on it and came up with this. https://www.amazon.com/WTVA-Electric-Step-Thru-Mountain-Suspension/dp/B0B79JHZ14?th=1 Is this the bike we're talking about?

A BBSHD Killer? Here comes the CYC Photon

I'm OK too. It's not his opinion/riding habits that concern me. I'm WAY more interested in those newbies following/running across this string, that are just coming up to speed with the the idea of throttle vs. none - or maybe those that hadn't even considered a throttle. I think they deserve...
