Juiced Cross Current X or Ride1Up LMTD for $1700?

I've grown to like the integrated batteries. They're a cleaner look, less like an after thought. Fenders and a rack pretty high on my list as well. The "little bit wider tires" are a desirable feature. The 2.4-2.8" widths are a great compromise between the ponderous 4" widths, and the 2" "ride...

1st timer - Need some input (Kepler, Ripcurrent, Aventure, or local Sondors LX)

I have to ask, are you up for doing all of your own work on this new bike, or will you be depending on a local shop? I bring this up because many shops simply will not service bikes they didn't sell. You should know that fat tired bikes are quite literally HUGE in size. Because of their size...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

Me? I'm pretty happy with the "Smooth" tune and a couple of small changes on the initial throttle. Going to need a good reason to mess with it any further. I'm an old IT guy that's learned you don't change a thing until you need/have to. NOT into changes to see if I can get it to "work better".

Schwalbe Super Moto X...Good Multi-Purpose Tire?

My bikes (the wife and I have 6 of them between us, w/3 in Mi and 3 more in FL) are ALL on Super Moto X tires. 4 of them, all hub driven, are running 27.5x2.4", and 2 of them (both the mid drives) are running the 27.5x2.8". The 2.8" clearly have a better ride, with little downside. Rolling...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

I think you'll find a couple of minor tweaks can make a big difference. I use my throttle to get the bike moving and that's about it. Even then, it's not given a big blast of power. 1/4 throttle for a second is plenty to get the bike moving well enough for me to collect my balance. PAS and...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

I get full power in any PAS, but I don't feel its using any more or less power because of that. You can see when and how much it's pulling with the watt meter, and my throttle is super progressive. I can add a tiny bit, or everything available. In my case, how much power that throttle uses is...

    1000w with 35a > Battery drain?

I think you're going to find the 1000w motor is going to have a different plug on the motor cable. And I agree regarding the likelihood of some messed up parameter settings, or possibly the need for an external speed sensor if you don't already have one of those installed. The early Bafang...

Phaserunner V6, PAS, CA3 & GMAC (Grin) settings help: power cutouts under high load at low speeds.

To me, it sounds like you are running into a voltage sag issue and either your battery BMS or controller LVC is shutting you down. Like there's a bottleneck in your power delivery - somewhere?

    Riding Tire pressure

That was my bigger point. I didn't even look at fitment offerings. That, and the idea that there ARE tires designed to run at much lower pressures. Safe bet I think, they're going to offer a much better ride.....

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Really.... We recently had a "brainiac" gas station attendant lock the front door/only way out of a gas station because somebody was stealing 3 dollars worth of "stuff". The thief threatens to start shooting if the door wasn't unlocked. The brainiac wouldn't unlock it. So the thief kills 1 of...

    Riding Tire pressure

In the spirit of experimentation, I say go for it (55 psi). Pay attention to the feel of the bike. It's not hard to feel the rim bottoming out on something as it rolls over it if you're paying attention. If that happens, you know you don't have enough air in the tire. It's that simple. Bump it...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Sorry, I disagree. With no huge changes in the way cars are used today (all we are doing, for the purposes of this argument, is agreeing to no further development, right?), with the infrastructure in use the way we know it, bike transportation WILL continue to be a dangerous, if not impossible...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

This was tongue in cheek, right? Otherwise, the way I see it anyway, if they totally stopped building stuff for cars tomorrow, that's not going to make it one bit safer for bikes the day after. You would STILL need vast changes made with safer biking in mind... And I'm not talking painted white...

How can you not start off without full voltage?

Most of us use a set of common practices known to prevent abuse of our batteries. Why? Nobody likes replacing them more often than necessary. To answer your question more specifically, assuming you are talking about charging a 48v battery to 58.6v, you had better be doing this outside where...

    Riding Tire pressure

Does you tire provide a high/low pressure range the tire is designed to run in? So many variables!!! In addition to size tires and loaded weight, there's tire design, type of surfaces most frequently encountered, rolling resistance, and likely a dozen others that escape me. Point being, I'd...
