    Battery troubles

Man, there's something wrong.. Seems like your battery pack is not balanced so the charger shuts off before fully charging.. That kind of range with a large battery a moderate weight rider on flattish ground is pretty bad. Could be the BMS, or a broken tab from a parallel group. .who knows...

    Stop hating ebikes

Yeah I'm not a hater of ebikes.. I've had a total of 3 for 7 years and put around 12,000 miles on them. Sold my Stromer and will buy a new one this summer. Right now just enjoying my other bikes. And I think that skilled riders on single tracks are fine with ebikes. I don't think out of...

    Battery troubles

A 2A charger could take awhile.. but 15 miles isn't a lot for that battery pack unless you're riding a lot of hills .If the battery pack is hot to the touch during charging that's not good. An easy check after you think it's completely charged is to measure the battery voltage hot off the...

    Making of Juiced Riders

@grench there's something inherently user friendly about 20" tires on ebikes

    new Rubbers

Kenda is absolutely the worst tire brand i've ever used.. They must be really cheap for so many bike companies to make them OEM. Just about any quality tire would be an improvement..

    Battery troubles

@pxpaulx good point.. However Radrover would default to saying mail them the battery for inspection. I would ask them what the internal resistance or other parameters should be, and then use a multimeter to check.

Buy local if youre not sure about the reliability of the eBike and/or you cannot fix it on your own. It will more than pay for itself.

    Stop hating ebikes

There is just no comparison to the skills needed to ride a bike in a straight line compared to single tracks. The number of bike decisions and turns per minute are just too numerous for an marginal out of shape rider on a single track or bike trail. And while road crashes are indeed painful...

    Stop hating ebikes

Road bike riding doesn't have nearly the technical challenges, obstructions and tight turns that mountain biking does.. Road bike is riding in a straight line 90% of the time and you can see the potential dangers well in advance. Pedaling at 15 mph or ebiking at 25 mph is a difference that is...

    Charger Not Charging

The fan on my "high Power" charger quit after 4 years and would not charge. Took it apart and found it to be a typical Desktop CPU fan. $4 and I had to slightly modify the mounting holes.. It's worth fixing if you do not have to send them the old one back. For a new charger you should either...

    Stop hating ebikes

Well I hate to say this, but I don't know if ebikes on single track trails is such a good idea.. I rode the trails this weekend on my Fuji hardtail, Doubt that I ever went over 15 mph and used my feet to feel my speed and traction. At no point did I think having an eBike would've been a help...

    Rear Rotor Rubbing Issue

Good for you! Safe riding. Replacement pads are pretty decent on eBay.

    Stop hating ebikes

I think people don't really care about ebikes unless you're trying to use the mountain bike trails or ride in a paced group.

Thoughts on joining local bike club organized rides

I would only show up with an ebike on Recreational rides like Critical Mass and Bike Emerge. If it is any kind of paced ride or workout ride or single trail ride do NOT SHOW UP WITH AN EBIKE. lol We had an elderly man show up with an ebike and he was worried. A few of us told him we...

    Rear Rotor Rubbing Issue

I think this is a shop Eff up. And they overfilled the master cylinder so you cannot push the pads back.. I would try squeezing the brake pads back on the rubbing side, then remove and re install them. If that doesn't work you need to bleed some fluid at the handlebar master cyling... And that...

    Rear Rotor Rubbing Issue

There should be no noticable resistance from the brake disc when you spin the wheel. Something changed and the difficult part is identifying what part got dinged, bent warped. shoot a video down the brake caliper with the wheel spinning. If it were me, I'd remove the brake pads first, then...

foolish to but st1 elite with 1600 miles?

Stromer is an all around great bike but it weighs 62 lbs. There are a lot of very nice bikes for less than $2000 new, retail, and discounts are usually available. You don't want your first eibke to be some beat up 3 year old rental, do you?

Daniel, I owned a Stromer elite for 3 years and 4000 miles... Never had a problem with it, not even one, and when I sold it, the couple that bought it couldn't understand why I was sell it .. It was in perfect condition.. I just like new toys! That bike got a lot of TLC, and I sold it for the...
