Throttle Starts To Avoid Gear Changes

Always start pedaling from a stop. Worst battery and controller load is from a dead stop. Changing gears just takes a second and no effort

    I got pulled over again

Good story.. I've noticed that police have stepped up traffic enforcement of cyclists this year, by quite a bit.... They are writing people up for running stop signs, riding side by side.. This was unheard of in Miami.

Doing The Math - Cost Per Mile - More Range Please.

I've owned 2 ebikes for over 7 years. The life cycle spec is kind of meaningless. You can get 1000 cycles if you can live with 50% original capacity. Depreciation Is the real killer on cost I've found the total cost of ownership is around 20 cents a mile. The more you use it the lower the...

    Cross Current

What's going on with ebikes and 700c tires?. Sondors Thin owners are reporting blowouts every day

    Cross Current

@Dunbar what kind of range are you getting at the most efficient assist setting? 15-17 miles at max power is less than expected, no?

    Cross Current

@Dunbar I had that problem with my Stromer and just sawed the Ergon grip to fit the handlebar on the throttle side. Worked out fine. It does seem a little strange to take a hacksaw to a $30 grip. Lol

Flat tires - how much of a problem should I expect?

I'm with the no Slime crowd! Stromer supplie tires of excellent quality. No flats 3 years 3500 miles. If you're going any distance, suggest taking a new tube and a tools.. Maybe want to practice removing and reinstalling a tube on the front rim.

    Stromer won't start

If the battery in the display were the problem it wouldn't work intermittently like that. I had a state of charge display problem with my primary battery that was replaced under warranty Suggest you either tlak to the dist in San Diego or the people who sold you the bike.

    Shunned by bike club?

The only bicycle clugbs that would accept electric bikes are social gatherings to ride a bike, like Critical Mass or Bike Emerge. I ride with two clubs and can't imagine they would accept an ebike. These are exercise groups. Start your own club and show them! ;)

Motor won't rotate after hot plugging battery to controller

My Samsung TV stopped turning on after a while and thru on linet forums found out the power board swelled capacitors were the culprit.. Yep.. Had someone replace 3 caps and it's been fine since. NOT suggesting my TV problems have anything to do with your controller, except that a physical...

    My idea: AWD 1500W Radrover

If you want to DIY why not just upgrade what you have ? The guys at Kinaye have a lot of experience supersizing the motors AWD fat bikes. They would know what's the most fun, and they have the parts to help you. Unless you're into hill climbing AWD won't give the kind of acceleration a high...

Ebike for cross-country travel; advice? (Sondors or something else?)

If you're hell bent on taking an ebike I'd look at Juiced Riders. They off some very large battery options You can probably get over 70 miles a charge. If you stop for lunch could easily recharge and get 100 miles a day Or DIY and design the bike to fit your needs

Ebike for cross-country travel; advice? (Sondors or something else?)

@Concerned if you're really serious about a cross country bike trip, I'd forget about ebikes altogether. They are heavy and have limited range. They will give you problems that will require special parts. Buy a high quality touring bike, put a great seat and suspension and tires on it, and...

    New Faraday Cortland

Like to see a side by side comparison of the Stromer Thin (sales over 2,000 units) vs the Faraday Cortland. Both are about the same weight, Thin has a larger battery and motor, and Aluminum frame. Single speed vs multi speed.

    10 Best e-MTB's of 2016

Specialized FSR Fattie might outdo them all... Need a comparo test.

    Stop hating ebikes

Yep there is no way to regulate who can ride, how fast they ride or how much power their bikes can have.. Most inexperienced riders probably don't know that the trails are marked for difficulty, like ski slopes. Green dot for easy, Blue square for intermediate, Black Diamond for expert.

Looking for advice on which e-bike to buy

Oh Australia... You may want to can this thread and start a new thread with the words Tasmania woman needs an eBike! There are few on here from Eastern Australia who would know a lot more of the hardware available there. You could also buy a bike that you like and buy an eBike kit in...

Specialized Turbo Levo FS Fattie ... anyone else ride it?

(Link Removed - No Longer Exists) $5500 MSRP EBikes have arrived in Miami! A very well respected bike store near UM, called Mack Cycles, is now carrying electric bikes.. Specialized, Cannondale (who knew?) and Townie. The Turbo Levo is a proprietary motor/battery/frame from Specialized...

    Battery and chain throwing issues

When I had warranty issues with my eBikes, I called the Distributor or Regional Rep.. Those guys were very interested in my problems after I explained how much I like my bike, how often I use it, and how active I am on social media. Suggest calling the Distributor or the Regional Rep for...

Looking for advice on which e-bike to buy

You would be better off finding a local bike shop that sells ebikes and ride a few... Probably a step through.. Look for a Demo or leftover model. eBikes are all about comfort fit and if you like the way it looks!
