What surprises me most is how little confidence the e-bike manufacturers seem to show with their dismal warranty promises of one - two years. You guys are talking about DIY builds with bikes tha thave lasted decades ... I am waiting for a manufacturer to offer a lifetime warranty on the frame...

That's sounds very exiting! I've visted twice (USAF). Germany is a nice, clean Country (and I'm told folks like to beer too)! Come back and tell us all about it. I really do like the stats on the Kalkhof bikes, the closest test-ride for me would be a 3 hour drive to San Fran.

Who manufactures the Peak's mid-drive motor?

Volton's user manual cites their Bafang as "BDSO1" --but the Bafang mid-drive I'd read about here and elsewhere cite the Bafang "BBSO1" ... does that mean the BDSO1 is "generic"??
