    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

Sierratim: what I think I meant was that I won't change gears and step on it before the gear has completely enganged. I'm not real demanding of it, haven't ever gotten off seat to peddle rich c: i had just cleaned moments before picture, pedro's dry lube as we are in a very/dusty climate...

    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

I do understand the torque sensing of motor and do not make demands without being in full motion. I'm a mechanic by trade and I was attracted to the Brose concept. My wife's bike we bought used, 500 miles on it. Shes not as aware. Totally different looking cassette. I have noticed for quite...

    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

Como 4, 275 miles. Just did a quick cleanup to throw a bit of fresh chain lube on. The teeth of cassette sprockets look worn in a strange pattern. The chain seems a bit hammered too. Quick wipe down and oiled a couple weeks ago but that's all since came from dealer. Didn't really look at it...

How did you name your e-bike?

FlatSix911: that Gazelle looks awesome! CaptSlow: a big +1 for Chrissy Hynde in any iteration. My wife's Como 3 is a fabulous robin egg blue, she digs it, but has no name. The bike that is.

    Rad Rover 5 paint

Do a search on that site for "matte finish". Your looking for a sealant. There are many and once properly cleaned, your bike is ready for the sealant. A good product, properly applied, should make it possible to remove grit and debris with a simple quiet hose down. After drying a detailer can be...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

101 here. Still. Not a breath of air. Spooky. Did 5 miles to store, bought a 6 pack. Sat under deck cover with ceiling fan, wife, dogs. Barbecued some chicken.

How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

Stem riser adapter. Of course. Sierratim also with links I saw later. Good write up SMikes. Going in that direction. Thank you all.

How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

Looks like I have 4 spacers on tube under stem. Base spacer is 15mm, next is 10mm, then 2 at 5mm. It is at minimum insert point now. From center of handlebars to stem bolt is 60mm. If I install a 100mm stem it will put bars further away from saddle as Sierratim noted. 10 degree more rise...

How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

Sierratim: I think the .4" increase would be about right but I can't get info on length from specialized paperwork. More length=further reach, makes sense but not what I want. I could measure it, center head bolt to center of handlebars I'd say. I could ask Redshift guy to set me up with what he...

How to make Vado feel more like a Como?

I'm seeing some info about handlebar height in this thread. First: I agree that the Como is not a cruiser, not a aero road speeder, it's a combo of both, kind of. I gotta Como 4, love it, but handlebar height could be just a little higher to help pull my hands off somewhat and a tad more...

64 year old man shopping for an electric bike, any suggestion

I'm 64, 225. Dont even consider a non-step thru. May be ok now. In a couple years? Most decisions we make in life either create "easier" or "harder". Easier is, uh, well, easier. Easier=better. My $.02 Good luck. Have fun.

Which suspension post for a comfort upright bike

Mine a Spec Como 4. Hers a Spec Como 3. Me 6-1, 225. Her 5-6, 125. They both have "the cup" saddles. I'm not fond of the saddles at all. She's ok with saddle. I recently installed T-buster ST on mine with appropriate elastomer. I liked the difference. I took it off and installed on hers with...

    Como 3.0 Rear Light

We are in same spot. We have a Como 4 & 3. Seatpost concept same on both. I just put a Thudbuster ST on mine. When pulling out seatpost, carefully because you know there are wires in there, I made sure when removed there was enough slack in wires to set post on bench or something without putting...

The Ultimate Mid-Drive Chain Care Thread

Years ago (back in the day) an experienced mechanic would add a bit of ATF to oil that we used on escalator drive chains. Main factor of this is that it penetrated the links quicker than the chain oil alone. One of the attributes of the chain oil is how it stuck to chain while in constant...
