Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I wouldn't even try to contact Juiced. Take the bike back to the bike shop where you bought it and have them fix it. It sounds like you have the bad battery mount problem that others have had. They can test the battery at the shop to rule that out as the problem.

That's a rustproof coating. It wears off over time.

Yes and Grin has two suggestion to remedy the problem. One is put a brass washer on each spoke head which shortens the bend radius into the hub flange. The other is to alternate the direction of the spokes where they thread through the hub motor flange. That's what the guy at my LBS did. He...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Juiced may be getting their spokes from the same supplier as Giant Bikes but they are not the same high quality. I have a Giant Cypress that's 15 years old and never broken a spoke. My CC broke 2 spokes in less than a month. The spokes always break at the hub, which means they are weak at the...

    Thoughts on CrossCurrent Air?

I rarely charge my battery until the green light appears on the charger. I usually just top off the battery for about an hour or so. I look to see if i have the four green lights on the battery and then unplug. So hopefully i'm charging my battery no more than about 85%, but of course without a...

I take it the motor is still good, so you need a doubled walled rim and new spokes. Grin Technologies has them, and they sell Juiced Bikes so they are familiar with the CC. They can also build a new wheel if you send the motor to them. http://www.ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/rims.html

    Thoughts on CrossCurrent Air?

Yes, I think it's ok. This is from the CC owners manual on Juiced website: Your Lithium battery does not have a “memory effect” associated with older battery technologies. It is highly recommended you charge the battery after every ride even if the battery is only lightly used.

    Thoughts on CrossCurrent Air?

I have a similar issue with the power sometimes. When the power goes down to three bars I seem to completely lose power as I'am riding. The lights on the display are on but I can't feel any assist. I continue my ride for, maybe, 2 minutes, and then the power kicks back in and it doesn't happen...

    Thoughts on CrossCurrent Air?

It's not difficult but it's not something you want to do very often if you can help it. That's why puncture resistant tires are good. After you unscrew the bolts, there is also a washer held on in by a small bolt. Have the chain so its on the smallest cog. Lift the derailleur with your left hand...

    Thoughts on CrossCurrent Air?

The extra weight doesn't matter that much because you have the electric motor. Professional road cyclists put out about 300-450 watts of power, so it's kind of like Chris Froome is peddling at the same time you are. If you use to commute I would get some puncture resistant tires and have a get...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have the same problem with road debris along my commute. When I got home the other day there was a huge nail sticking out of my rear tire, which is a Schwable Marathon plus, however the tire had lost almost no pressure. Had that have been the stock Kenda tire I no doubt would have had a flat...

Th They look great and the price is good, but how thick is the puncture protective layer? I couldn't find that info on their website. I think with the regular Schwalbe Marathon its 3 mm, and the plus tire it's 5 mm.

I think a less than perfect fit is the key to the problem. The flange on the hub motor needs to be the same thickness as the J-bend. If the bend is longer, it creates a weakness. Something that might work that has been recommended is to add a small brass washer to every spoke head. That pulls...

You really don't want your tires to be rock hard. I'd recommend the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tire, at least for the back wheel. The max inflation is 70psi. I inflate to about 55 to 60 psi. When the tire is softer it absorbs some of the road surface impact, which causes less stress on the spokes...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I wouldn't worry. Best case scenario is that you'll have a great bike that will give you many trouble free miles, as some people have attested to on this forum. Worst case is a spoke breaking problem like some of us have. But anything on a bike is fixable. I paid $1095 for my bike, and $160 for...
