    Orbea Gain E-Road Bike

Just rode my new 2020 Orbea Gain M20i for a little initial ride shakedown run in my neighborhood. My bike was delivered to me last week, but it took me a few days to assemble and setup plus add my accessories. I opted to do the assembly and setup myself as I'm pretty picky and anal, plus I have...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

Going back to basic electronics, isn't a parallel connection between the 2 batteries the only way to keep the voltage the same? If they ran the 2 in series, it would effectively double the voltage.

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

Watched a few of his videos. He's an expert-Just ask him. I don't care for the guy myself.

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

I've seen these videos. So, this guy doesn't like hub drives. To each his own, but there's a place for both. He is quite biased. I guess we're not even talking about pedal assist, because all his before and after footage is throttle only and he's riding like a fool with no helmet. Just my opinion.

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

Just finished assembly and setup on my 2020 Gain M20i. Hoping to take it out for a shake-down run today. I'm hoping I made the right choice. Your experience is certainly encouraging!

Hello Tomas! I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my tuner to arrive. I received my bike finally, and hopefully the tuner arrives in the US soon. It left Spain on the 16th, so it should be any day now!

Looking to buy first ebike for wife and I. <$4000, mid-drive

To each his own like you said. But for me I need the exercise and I can be a bit lazy, so I purchased a class 1 e-bike which will help my personal needs and goals.

Looking to buy first ebike for wife and I. <$4000, mid-drive

Well, I've been paying attention to people riding e-bikes here in Fresno California the last 6 months as I've been interested and researching to purchase myself. I'd say at least 3 out of 4 I've seen are not pedaling.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

OK-You must be talking mountain bikes and not road bikes I suspect after the full suspension comment.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Steel frames are faster than carbon? First I've heard that.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

What length spokes did you use on the rear wheel build? Also, which Farsports rim and depth did you go with?

How can I pair Garmin 530 to my Gain?

Anybody figure out if it's possible to configure the Di2 hood buttons to control the X35 assist levels?

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

Well, that's not the feedback I was hoping to hear. I was hoping these devices would yield a 2-3 MPH increase and a smoother cutoff. I have mine ordered from Volabike, but I'm pretty sure they both are the same design.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Thanks for the information. I think I've talked myself out of the Chinese wheels after some research, but the prices are sure attractive. I'll email Farsports and get an estimate, but I think the Parcours wheels are calling out to me.

What have you changed to lighten it up? 25.46 plus pedals minus current 24.2= quite a reduction.

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

It took just about 10 days from when they ordered the bike to receive it from Spain. I'm now waiting for them to unlock the X35 system and update software before they ship to me. I think the Gain is about the same weight as your Dyodo, so I'm not expecting it to feel as light as my Focus...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

Here in the US our level one bikes are restricted to 32km/h (20mph) which makes things easier. Personally, I have an Orbea Gain on order that just arrived at the dealer I ordered from. They should be shipping to me next week. The BMC has some nice features, but it certainly looks more e-bikeish...

Discounts or freebies on Creo purchases?

I can see that if you require a bike that can do 28MPH, the market is a bit smaller. An apparently without regard to price, the Creo is at the top of the list as it checks all the boxes. But the price of ownership is steep. I just ride by myself for recreation and exercise, so a 20MPH model fits...

Discounts or freebies on Creo purchases?

OK-So no other manufacturer has a carbon frame mid drive 28mph bike? If that is the case then I see your point. My statement was more focused on specialized bikes overall being higher priced then the competing brands.
