Solar panels for ST1 Platinum. Charge and ride.

Not an electrical engineer, but I'd think that the Watts are not enough: a charger needs to spit out at least as many Volts as the nominal voltage of the battery you're charging, so a 5 Volt USB charger is no good for any ebike battery.

Feedback requested for new KickStarter Spark Electric Bike

The feedback is already here: http://electricbikereview.com/community/threads/how-the-game-works-cf-101.1444/ So you see that not only a comparable but the same bike costs about $600.

    Rapid Charging

I'm not an electrician, but doesn't charging a 1.5 Ah battery in 1 minute require a current of about 88 A? Perhaps they also invented room temperature superconductors to make phone battery scale wires and contacts able to handle it.

Storm Fat Bike vs Prodaco Tech Rebel XS Fat Bike

    The missing comparison item: Exists........................No.....................................................Yes

    Due to arrive in March

Yes, the force remains the same measly maximum 250 W no matter how hard you pedal. That's not a plus. The design is stupid.

    So much for Focus dealers

If you're buying bikes in that price range, can't you just take your private jet to the nearest city with a dealer, where ever in the world it is? :)

    Say Hello To Storm

Reality is, the price is certainly not the only reason the industry hates it. The other big one is that it's still being sold with ridiculously inflated claims (50 mile range, 90 min charging time) and can get 10,000 ebike buyers to go sour on the whole industry for a long time.

Legal LOOPHOLE? Can 800W M1 Spitzing qualify as CA Class1 BICYCLE

I read just about the opposite meaning in that article: they are now defining categories and setting limits, separating mopeds from bikes because having them mixed didn't work. That Utah thing is not categorizing vehicles based on their max speed but only if there's any kind of motor or not, so...

Legal LOOPHOLE? Can 800W M1 Spitzing qualify as CA Class1 BICYCLE

This is exactly why laws and rules limit where different vehicles can be used based on their maximum capabilities and not on how "nice" riders and drivers choose to use them. Most motorized vehicles of any kind have an "adjustable controller": it's called a throttle.

    Say Hello To Storm

If I had a cynical streak, I'd say they noticed the rate of donations dropping, meaning all marks good for $500 were tapped out, so now it's time to try to scrape some leftovers. But since I don't have a cynical streak, I won't say it.

    Say Hello To Storm

I have no idea, "Waladli Explorer" and the logo just look odd.

    Say Hello To Storm

What would the donors expecting to get bikes for their money think about that...?

    Say Hello To Storm

It's ok to throw some cold water on this thing... steel frame and no gears screams "as cheap as possible": it could be a $50 bike with $300 electrical stuff added, so they could sell them for $500 and make a little profit. Nothing wrong with that per se, except for quite a lot of disappointed...

Tool for adjusting that rear brake pad on an iZip Dash

...and possibly other bikes. If you're less DIY minded or don't have bolt cutters and a bench grinder to chop up an allen key, you can now order a 3D printed tool here: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/needfulwidgets

    Bafang and NuVinci?

Because NuVinci transmits forces internally using friction, it could have problems handling extra torque.

    Most Successful Ebike Launch?

That looks amazingly crappy. I'd be surprised if you couldn't already find something less bad for the same price without messing with kickstarter.

Supposed to sell for under $500? Does not compute.

    500 seat

I second that. No amount of adjusting got rid of butthurt from riding on a somewhat bumpy bike path but getting a Thudbuster did it.
