Elephant in the Room, Top Speed of eBikes

I commute on a Dash and I hope 35+mph ebikes never take hold. I started commuting because I got tired of my 7 mile drive home taking over an hour on a bad day, 40 minutes most days; by bike it's about 20 minutes and there are very few bad days. I commute like most other bikers, I slow down but...

Some serious improvements/modifications to an E3 Dash.

Shea, as part of screwing up the entire surface transportation system in Seattle they are installing trolley tracks and I didn't have any trouble with them 49 out of 50 times I encountered them, but then I forgot for a moment and weaved out of the way of some idiot driver and dropped the front...

Some serious improvements/modifications to an E3 Dash.

I have 1,000 miles on my Dash now, so far no flats but did enjoy an epic crash. I liked the bike when I got it but I like it a whole lot more with all the changes I've made, some small and some pretty significant. Fenders- a gotta have. Rack and Bags- required for me. Lights, four currently on...

    New Commuter needs help

Correction, the Topeak bags don't hide the motor at all. Not sure what I was thinking.

    New Commuter needs help

The larger size Topeak MTX trunk bags have fold down panniers that cover the motor. I leave mine down 100% of the time.

    Rear Rack Suggestions?

Just post the dimensions of the iPad Air and I will check my MTX DXP trunkbag. I carry an Eagle Creek Pack-it Folder with my clean clothes for the week, it is 12" x 18" and about 4" of it sticks out of the top. Needs a rain cover these days. Suggest Supertourist rack but Explorer rack is what...

DASH Commuting Report - 1 Month & 600 miles (long post)

Pace That is one fantastic review, and I agree with most or all of your comments. For example I am swapping to the Avid BB7 brakes and I have the Jones H Bar, but to cure issues I was have with wrists and shoulders. Be aware that the brake sensor wires will be tight and have to be released from...

CurrieTech - How to adjust Dash rear brake??

Pace I am in the process of having some work done on Mr. Dash while I am in Spain for a few weeks which I will write up when I return. Because it involves several factors like improved brake cables I won't be able to determine where the improvements if any come from. The Avids did feel better.

CurrieTech - How to adjust Dash rear brake??

Also be aware of the fact that the dash used a 160 and a 180 disk (front / rear). Having adjusted my rear brake a few times now I agree that dropping the rear wheel isn't needed but for the owner with limited experience working on bikes/brakes it takes more than a few times to figure it out and...

Amp Hours when battery is fully charged (Onboard Diagnostic Test)

All this was covered before here at post 70, I think. Currie, by their own admission, screwed up when they put that test into the diagnostic program. My other Battery Electric Vehicle is a BMW i3 with much smarter engineers and a much bigger budget and they were smart enough not to provide an...

New Dash, some problems (update: fixed after brake lever adjustment)

I have a similar issue from time to time as my right lever gets a little loose, solution is to tighten up the lever pivot bolt.

    Demo Problem

Well, you could call REI and see if they have a Dash or a Peak in stock: 400 El Paseo de Saratoga San Jose, CA (408) 871-8765 4309 Sayoko Cir San Jose, CA (408) 264-3198 And REI is a no-hassle return if you don't like it. You are getting bad information from Motostrano. Avoid.

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

Shea, the thudbuster is elastomer, I guess. The Suntour is mechanical and very clever. I suspect the Bodyfloat is a better mechanical than the Suntour but not sure.
