The Frey EX pro looks like a great bike if you intend to buy an insurance policy on it or intend not to leave it out of your sight for long.

"The Sport ships from Espin as a Class 2 ebike but it is capable of higher speeds, so if you wish you can increase the top speed to 28mph which pushes it to a Class 3." from this review: https://electricbikereview.com/espin/sport/

    Aventon level

The Level should be a good bike, but you get the very similar Espin Sport, which weighs 7# less, for $1200. Speed limit is set at 20mph, but is adjustable through the control display.

    My Espin Sport

I assembled the bike. It was an easy job that allowed me to get familiar with the setup. I needed to straighten the derailleur guard and rear rack, and center the handlebar stem. It could be done with the included multi-tool, but separate hex keys and wrenches would be better. Getting the bike...

    My Espin Sport

Get used to it? The sport is quite stable. The spring fork helps on bumpy surfaces. I'd ride the brakes as much as needed.

    My Espin Sport

I use level one for relaxed riding, two on steep hills and when I want to get somewhere quickly, and three when I want an adrenalin rush. That's as high as I've gotten.

    My Espin Sport

I agree that the Espin sport could use taller gearing. Eight-speed gear sets with an11-cog top gear cost about $30, so that would be a cheap change.

    My Espin Sport

I received my Espin Sport last week. Overall, I am quite pleased with the bike. There were a few things that needed straightening due to shipment travails, but nothing major. The bike looks good, is more than powerful enough, and seems well-made. The geometry is just right for me. Quibbles: the...

Espin Flow $1199 Great Bike, Support ?

I straightened the derailleur guard and a few other items that got tweaked in shipment. I'm quite impressed by the Espin Sport. It is well assembled and finished and goes like a bat out of hell. For $1200 it seems quite a bargain.
