    Aventon Controller Modifications

So you're saying that the throttle is active in PAS0 on bikes with throttle after peddle?

New controller install and test - Pace 500

Woh, settle down! 😂 My mistake. I did just read the user review and not the follow up posts. Sounds like they’ve made a good change.

New controller install and test - Pace 500

This got me interested so I checked the R1Up form. A user there posted this: "The 700 (which I set for 9 levels) wants to go at a certain speed for each level and its hard to go any slower or faster than that speed. For instance, level 4 on the 700 may propel me at 15.5 mph on flat ground...

Took Delivery of Aventon Level Today

After reading some bad Fomtor reviews on Amazon I chose to spend a little more and get the Ritchie stem instead. It's a quality piece of kit and more secure, with interlocking cog wheels instead of just friction to hold the angle. Worth the extra $35 in my opinion.

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

My Juiced bike is the same, but as mentioned, also has the throttle active in PAS 0. It's nice for those times when I'm out to get some exercise, but still want the throttle on occasion to zip across an intersection or up a steep incline. I don't consider it terribly dangerous. If I'm moving...

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

Well, not exactly. I have the updated controller, and while it does allow you to use the throttle before peddling in modes 1-5, the throttle doesn’t work *at all* in level 0. Very annoying.

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

Theoretically you could do that, but Aventon disables the throttle in peddle-only mode. Juiced does not.

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

Basically there are two main options in the ebike world: cadence sensor bikes and torque sensor bikes. Cadence sensor bikes like Aventon are generally alike in that the motor is either on or off and it's going to deliver a fixed amount of power at a given PAS level. Most, but not all, hub...

Juiced CCX: A great bike I can't use

That is a drag. I got my CCX about 5 weeks ago (before the sale). The box was pretty beat up but nowhere near what you're describing. I'm thinking that Juiced should ditch the free shipping. It's a nice perk but they're obviously cheaping out on the packing/shipping to justify it. When I...

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

I recently bought a Level step-through for my wife and we're both finding that the assist is too abrupt throughout the range, and particularly in PAS 1. And this is a bike with the new controller that purportedly addressed the issue. I found that setting the top speed to 20 mph makes PAS 1...

New controller install and test - Pace 500

Thanks, Rickey. I guess you can only adjust the top speed. Question is ... does that affect the speeds in levels 1-4? In other words, if I reduce the max speed to 20mph, will there be a relative reduction in the other levels? I suppose I should just test it and find out myself. :)

You mean you can set the speed? Can you explain how one does that?

How to Replace a Broken Spoke

I got a reply back from Aventon and they said that it is intentional. They said that lacing the 12 gauge spokes alternately would put too much pressure on the spoke heads.

How to Replace a Broken Spoke

I noticed that on my wife's new Level all of the rear spokes are laced from the inside of the hub instead of alternating inside and out. That seems wrong.

    eHorn option

I have the juiced horn/alarm as well. Works great for alerting cars, which is why I bought it. Just the other day I used it to alert a car that was backing into my path from a driveway. Stopped him in his tracks. I don't use it to alert pedestrians because I don't want to give them heart...

    Affordable Ebike hitch rack?

I just got the same rack for my Juiced CCX and my wife's Aventon Level. The fact that it sticks out a fair bit from the rear of the vehicle was a plus for me because it fits in front of the spare tire on my Wrangler. Loaded it up as a test but I haven't gone anywhere with the bikes in tow yet.

    Aventon Level Error Code

That's a bit of an exaggeration. Mid-drives are better suited to hill climbing but many hub drive bikes are also quite capable of climbing hills. Hub drives are just more dependent on the power of the engine because they're driving the wheel directly, while mid-drives are driving the cranks...

RCS motor does not come on after front brake is applied

There's an extra cable attached to each brake lever and I think that those cables attach to the motor controller. I have a CrossCurrent so I'm not sure where that would be on your bike. On the CCX it's in the frame above the battery.

RCS motor does not come on after front brake is applied

Sounds like the cutoff switch is bad on that side. I'd send a not to Juiced support.
