Happy Hour and Bikes: What does the law say about this in your state?

Well, I would go under the assumption that if a cop decides to "pull you over" on a bicycle, there would need to be just cause in any state. After that initial contact, my guess is it would be up to the discretion of the officer involved. Missouri DWI laws specify "motor vehicle" if memory...

    Dash Light Kit

The Dash appears to be quite successfull in its niche so far. Currie had previously mentioned a city kit and/or light kit for the Dash and Peak. Has anyone heard any news on those items yet? Although I have a Cygolite 500, I would be interested in a wired-on solution (and transfer the Cygo to...

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

If I had to guess (and it's only a wild guess), it would be that the shop had an older serial number bike, and didn't do the BB fix. If that's the case, they should be able to figure it out from the tech bulletins, and get you going again soon. Good Luck!

    Izip Dash Coasting Question

I will also add that my Dash coasts just fine. In fact, I ride it in PAS fairly often (for exercise), and it rides like a heavy mountain bike. If you pick the bike up, and spin the wheels by hand, do they rotate freely? That would be the easiest way to check for something binding or dragging.

My 500 mile E3 Dash Review

Great review HH!! I wish the trip odometer wouldn't reset when the power shuts off. BTW, I use PAS1 all the time. You get a decent level of assist compared to PAS0 (which I also use). ;)

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

HH (and others), have you had the wheel/motor replaced? HH indicated that they trued his rear wheel, but I'm confused as to whether it is the new uber-glue version, or the old one.

25yr. 6.1 220 dash or emotion? or any other recommendations

I have the Dash, and am really happy with it. I ordered it from a dealer out of state at a significant discount, and had to install the pedals, handlebar, reflectors, and go over all the connectors to make sure they were tight. The rear caliper was also out of adjustment. Ravi may have some...

    dashin Tampa!

I had to use extra rubber strips to mount it next to the control pad. It does have limited swivel, but not much. Enough for the dash, though. I had to tighten the screw where it swivels quite tight to make sure it stays aimed where I put it. Almost enough to make me worry about stripping the...

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

For clarity, would the items transferred from the current bike be the cassette, tire, tube, and brake disk? Or, would one need to have the rim re-laced to the replacement motor? Thanks!

    dashin Tampa!

Hey Kyle, how's your Dash? I'm loving mine!!! :D I put a Cygolite 500 on mine partly based on reading about it in this thread.

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

That is exactly what we think happened with the glass-fiber filters. In our case, cotton does not bind DNA, so entire lots were worthless, our customers were complaining, and we were (as a company) in the doghouse. :(

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

Quotes: "...with a different glue, said to be tested at many times stronger bond." "The failing wheels tend to do it somewhat quickly, so it's likely that a wheel after several hundred miles that has not failed, may survive." Once the new glue has been tested, and proves to be stronger, I...

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

@ CurrieTech, that is a wonderful position to express, and I laud the customer care! Maybe, covering the suspect motors for longer than the initial warranty period would be more cost effective? If the glue was only suspect on some motors, then others may be absolutely fine. That way, those of...

    Commuting by E-bike

That is wonderful for all of you!!! I can't commute to work with mine for a variety of reasons, but I do really enjoy riding my Dash for fun and exercise.

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

Hey Mark, you bring up some very good points! I (for one), do not regret my purchase. Currie appears to be doing everything in their power to make certain their customers are taken care of. Having written that, the experiences of HH are way outside of what one should expect for such an...

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

You have suffered greatly HH!!! Add on to that, your distance to the dealer, and you are much more patient than many of us would have been. I am disappointed that sub-standard glue made it through R&D, and into production. I would assume the glue strength should have been tested before...

Blown motor on E3 Dash with 29 miles on it

As a new owner of the Dash, finding out that there may be a problem with my new bike makes me very nervous. I only have a fraction of the miles on my Dash as HH does. How does one know if their glue will hold up over time? Have there been specific batches of glue that were problematic, or...

    In the beginning, and desire...

I can get a 2" receiver installed for about $200 for attaching the bike rack. I don't care about lack of access to the hatch, so it doesn't have to fold. I would prefer that the carrier be "tray" style, and that it un-attaches easily, since I would probably only put it on when hauling the...

    In the beginning, and desire...

No worries Mark, I asked for opinions! Right now, I just put the Dash inside my CRV, derailleur side up, and it works OK. It's just a little bit of a pain to get in there, and if I have a friend along, I have no place to put the other bike. Hence, have a trailer hitch receiver installed, and...

    In the beginning, and desire...

The rack Brian(J) linked to has tie downs for both tires of both bikes, which is quite nice. I wonder if it will clear the spare tire on my 2006 CRV... Anyone know? I would definitely remove the battery from the bike before transport (as I already do), so that is a very good point Ravi...
