    QiCycle

Many of you may have heard of the Xiaomi QiCycle. It's a 250 watt front hub drive foldable. Battery is 5.8 amp/hour based on Panasonic 18650 cells. Currently, it isn't available in the USA, but someone decided to import and sell on Amazon, so I bought one. Fit and finish are outstanding, but...

The city agreed to pay all of my out-of-pocket expenses. Now, if the ER will bill me so I can send a receipt.... :D

    POLL: E-Bike Community

<-------I modified my Trek in 1999 with a MAC can (geared) and 24v lead-acid battery (Currie kit). Now I have a Dash. How should I vote? ;)

I agree that there are lots of frivolous lawsuits, and I have no intention to sue them. They fixed the gap on the first work day after the incident, and they turned my claim for restitution in to their insurance company. My total out of pocket expenses are $155. It is going to be interesting...

Dash reads "CU88A" then "C592"; won't power up

My recently crashed Dash showed the same C592 error, and I'm thinking it also showed the CU88A. The bike shop fixed it for $35.00, and I'm seriously thinking that the wires pulled out of the controller a little when the handlebars turned around 180 degrees.

Heard back from the bike shop. It's fixed, and he didn't say what it was, but I still assume a pulled wire or two. Total cost? $35.00/ :D

Thanks everyone! I posted a Youtube video of cars getting flipped by open manholes to my Facebook page, and my coworkers have been strangely silent about THAT one.... ;)

Quick question. A few of my coworkers told me I am wrong to ask the City for reimbursement of my out of pocket expenses. They feel I should take personal responsibility for the crash, and not even ask the City for compensation. Mind you, I only asked for money I actually have to spend, no...

    Dash Strength

It's been raining here every weekend, and the Currie Service Center is not really close. I hope to take it in this weekend. I sent an email to the Mayor of my city, and included the photos I posted here. It looks like I should get reimbursed for all my out-of-pocket expenses. We shall see...

I contacted the city the next day, told them what happened, and suggested they fix it ASAP. For the children. ;) And yes, I was extremely lucky with my minor injuries, and I'm using this as a wake up call to wear my helmet.

    Dash Strength

Hi Y'all! I've been away for a while, but I have something worthy to report. On the Thursday night before Memorial day, I went for a short ride on my 2014 Dash. Previously, I seemed to be having occasional power dropouts, but I wasn't absolutely sure. Now, I have NO power and here is why...

    Electric Bike Carrier Racks

Hey Brian, I wonder if you can give an update about your Prorack. How do you like it so far, would you recommend it, does it wobble too much (now that you've used it for a while), is it easy to mount and remove on the vehicle, etc. ? Thanks!

    Derailleur Question

Please forgive my ignorance, but I am having a problem with my nine-speed microshift controlled derailleur on my E3 Dash. On my last two rides, the bike doesn't want to stay in ninth gear, and will shift to eighth on it's own while pedaling. It also sometimes doesn't shift between the higher...

Happy Hour and Bikes: What does the law say about this in your state?

But they tax you as if you do! ;) Until 2009, Illinois classified low speed motorized bicycles as motor vehicles which required registration, but you couldn't register a low speed motorized bicycle! They adopted the national guidelines after 2009. :/

Happy Hour and Bikes: What does the law say about this in your state?

That site (and my quote of it) shows the relevant precedent cases. What really got me was that you could get a DWI for operating on your own private property!!!! If that is true, then I can't see any leniency for operating a bicycle on public roads while over the legal limit.

Happy Hour and Bikes: What does the law say about this in your state?

In order to answer your question more fully, I found this: Covered Vehicles or Devices: The term motor vehicle is not defined in the Missouri DWI statutes. However, it seems clear under Missouri case law that any motorized vehicle will suffice for these purposes. There are also separate...
