    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice Haha. I could see a couple of PC fans wired in fairly easily. Simple solution would be to ride in winter. ;-)

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice It worked great. Gets a little hotter than the stock 48V and makes the original controller hotter as well, but it shouldn't be a problem. It seemed like it had more torque, even though I doubt more amps were flowing though the controller, but it definitely had more top speed in...

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

    @mbirds Isn't a wheel with a hub motor more involved? or about the same work as a non-hub motor wheel?

    More USB ports...more fun!

    @SpiderDice Nice writeup!

    @Barkme Wolf Probably half that if you have a front and a rear. Check eBay and Amazon for deals. Check with your LBS for truing costs.

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @opimax Oh wow. Sorry to hear of your troubles opimax. Know that I'm close if you need some help. Hopefully the warranty is still in effect. I just got my BBSHD kit in today, so I will work on finding another bike to convert so I'll have a spare when my friends are rideless! Keep me posted on...

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @opimax Oh yeah, that's in progress now. I checked it with my multimeter and it was 49.9V. I have it on 1A charge now to bring it up to 100% We shall see how it goes. Maybe I'll be able to keep up with you now!

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice It did! It arrived last night. I did opt for the upgraded 300W charger. We shall see how it does today maybe if the weather holds out. I checked the battery last night and it's full going by the gauge on the battery.

    Let's talk Lights..

    @SpiderDice Possibly. Turn the light on and check it with a multimeter (backprobe) to see what the output is. Compare that value with the specs for the new light. I'm not sure what the LCD display can handle though.

    Just a little tip.. (Avg. & Max Speed)

    @SpiderDice cool!

    LCD display opinions?

    @SpiderDice I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe a post on endless sphere would be better. I await any suggestions.

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice Oh no! The battery project was enough lol. I gathered that last bit of info from a review done on the bike: https://syonyk.blogspot.com/2016/03/rad-power-bikes-rad-rover.html

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice Oh yeah. Our factory controllers are way overbuilt. The stock one should be able to handle up to 60V and 30 amps. When our stock batteries come off of the charger they are over 54V and the controller pushes 16 amps at most so it's a very reliable system. Our factory controller is a...

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice You don't, I just chose to so I would have a little more torque/acceleration. I went with the hod rod from Luna Cycle. It may or may not work, but for $55 bucks I'm willing to experiment. I can always save it for a third ebike build lol.

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @opimax Will do opimax! Hopefully it'll be ok. I'm gonna try to ride today since the weather is perfect so don't be jealous lol. Cookout sounds great though and I'm sure you'll get to ride on the 4th. I got my bike stand and specialty tools in last night so I'll be ready to install the BBSHD...

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice @opimax @NinjaNick This message greeted me last night when my new battery and hotrod controller didn't arrive and I checked the tracking number on UPS: "A train derailment has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. / Delivery will be...

    Battery Upgrade/Backup

    @SpiderDice Haha! My skills at installing it were pretty horrible. It's not nice and smooth looking like @Mike in Spokane is. It should be the same demensions I would think. If not, the bag "failure" can always come off the bike. Stealth be damned! lol
