My Surly troll half fat e bike

Yes frame is the Surly troll wheels are halo SAS 36 spoke they are 37mm wide, heavy but strong wheels well suited to ebike use. The 100mm kit I saw was megabucks these tyres are as big as I could go in this frame I have had a black floyd on the front but it felt a bit unwieldy at 30mph+ the 3.5...

    Bafang and NuVinci?

I made up a decent size mudflap to help keep mud and water off the motor along wìth the full mudguards I use, am considering the possibility of fabricating a neoprene cover for winter or sump style guard around it in plastic to deflect spray/mud road salt. I have a speedict mercury fitted but...

    Bafang and NuVinci?

As I said tried that method it didnt suit me, I have ridden a bosch ebike my BBS 02 with this nuvinchi auto setup feels on par with the bosch but has more power and speed. Its just smooth jerk free uninterupted acceleration without any effort, if it proves reliable it is a credible alternative...

    Bafang and NuVinci?

I just modified my bike with a BBS 02 750w and added the harmony autoshift kit to my N360 hub, only 3 rides so far but it works very nicely. I dont intend thrashing the life out of it so will find out how durable the nuvinchi is with BBS02 torque going thru it. One concern I had was would it...

Elephant in the Room, Top Speed of eBikes

I think in the states you have it just about right 750w power limit 20mph speed limit, a touch slow but a very usable turn of pace on what could be a cycle with no suspension rim brakes and a rider who may not have a licence to drive or ride a motorbike and the road skill that gives you. In the...

My Surly troll half fat e bike

Thankyou its a keeper for sure, have now changed rear sprocket from 21T which felt undergeared with the 42T chainring, to a 16T which seems just about right full throttle with wheel off floor is showing 30mph on speedo. Riding on flat road was able to hold 25/27mph with fairly relaxed cadence...

    E-MT1000 750W Mid-Drive Project

Thats quite a beastie you built how do the brakes cope with the weight and speed, it must get along really well with 2 pairs of legs and a crank drive assisting. Given your type of riding some big apple or fat frank tyres could work well if you have the clearence to fit them.
