Vado SL - real world range

Lots of great data in here. Sounds just like the 1.2 on my Creo which I believe is less efficient than the 1.2 motor. I could run it flat in 20 miles on Turbo, or I could ride the bike with no assist at all for 30 miles. Starting to pay more attention to percentage per ft of elevation.

Apparently the bike uses a good amount of juice just logging data. This was a 100% off ride. Surprised at how efficient it felt despite the aluminum wheels and 32 lb weight. Even went up a 12% hill with a 50 lb pack : D I’d argue that this is a more efficient workout bike than a non-electrified...

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Btw, careful with Ride Review. It's all (crappy) AI-driven and they are extrapolating "reviews" and scores from forum users commenting on the bike announcements.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

I wonder how much better the suspension is on the Tero 5/6 versus the 4. Their marketing photo seems optimistic to me.. Edit: and if they can tubeless that would be huge.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

This sounds a little strange but I’m more comfortable taking my Creo or Diverge off road than a Tero 4 with full suspension. Something about the heaviness increases the impact. Levo is going to perform way better off-road, Tero better for everyday city riding and tasks. Just basing that on one...

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Yes, it’s lower. And that’s really the main issue with all of them - high frequencies are annoying to the ear, even when quiet. Especially static pitches. Sound quality and quantity are both important. There are thousands of sounds I could tolerate all day at that volume level. To me the Fazua...

Yep! Just saw those too. Wouldn’t want a more road-focused tire on this bike though. The most fun I’ve had with it has been exploring off-road.

    Bosch Connect Module (GPS)

Ah than that wouldn’t be a problem.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Creo 2 or Skitch don’t solve that for me. The full sized Vados do, but I found it to be quite noticeable with the 1.2 and the Fazua Ride 60. When people say “silent” I don’t think they know what that word means :)

I feel the same way. I don’t think you should feel any FOMO for the Creo 2 either. It’s so similar (and yes, I know drops don’t work for you!)

    Bosch Connect Module (GPS)

You will likely have to pay a Bosch dealer to activate the power port to use the connect module. The extra ports are off by default. Of course, this can be tested without the cover. If you bought your bike at that dealer, they should do it for free.

    Turbo Vado SL questions

It drives me nuts. I’m not from Texas originally, so the lack of basic sidewalks is even more jarring.

    Turbo Vado SL questions

That's what it really comes down to. I'd love to just hop on my bike, but our culture is so carbrained that we require lights, radars, etc. and anything else that may give us a small edge towards not being hit by a distracted speeding driver. It would be seriously amazing to not have to buy...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

No complaints with the tracers. They work great on and off road. I’m not blown away by them, but also see no reason to change. That photo I posted in the Creo 2 thread in the mud was taken after 3 miles riding with that clay on the wheels. The bike wiggled a lot but I made it just fine. I think...

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

Nice! Would love to hear what that sounds like.

Great idea! The first time my etap battery died was 2 weeks after purchase of the bike, fortunately at the end of a ride. I had the SRAM app set up, so it was weird that it didn’t alert me. Glad to hear that the bike can do this!

Also on my list of questions. My bike only shows the very first screen style in the menu. I can switch the one variable (mph) to the other options, but the other screens do not push to the bike.

I really like the sound of the Timber! and the other jangly ones. A seed shaker instrument on the handlebars might even work well.

Wow, I never came across that bit of info. What a bummer!

You may have to reorganize the wiring in there. It’s a bit of a messy solution imo, but it should fit.
