Nice. I gave up on fitting the liners in favour of sorting the brakes out. It turns out that my brake noise was due to too much oil in the front system. I pushed the sticky piston in with a screwdriver and drained excess oil from the brake lever port. A doddle.

Did you make to get the tyres off yourself this time or did it cost you another 4 pack? (s*it luck you’re having with flats btw)

These were on eBay, but you can get them direct from the US... they ain’t cheap though. Hopefully I’ve learnt enough from changing the tyres to make fitting these a little less painful I’m also going to clean the brakes through as they are making quite a bit of noise now. How are you getting...

Gear set up sorted. The miracle of you tube. I thinking the metallic noise was the chain on the hub. Has since gone away after sorting gears out... front disc catching though. Think I might re-seat the wheel

So, out today on the knobbys. Distinctly slower than inflated slicks, probably by some 2 - 3 mph. But, much better grip / traction. Also a softer ride given the lower pressure on the tyres.. not sure of I’ll ever get the brake and gear set up back to normal though, some grinding on the rear...

Ah. Fat tyres in the uk are a bit like rocking horse poo, rare as anything. Probably also not aware that 250w is the maximum allowed in the uk under European law if you want to be street legal. The power is actually plenty enough for our meandering country lanes and wet weather

They were £55 for the pair, search ‘compass tyres’ on eBay. not had much opportunity to ride the bike since putting the tyres on, but when testing brakes today, on tarmac they were humming like a Land Rover on a hot road. They did seem more grippy. I’m hoping to get out more tomorrow

You need reinforced nylon levers. Use 4, don’t slide, just lever. I’ve put the first one back on. Taken way longer than I care to admit, including taking it back off as I had the tread the wrong way around. Doh!
