Questions: first time ebike build ??

The problem with that torque arm is that it causes the motor to hang down from the BB at a weird angle. Might work better flipped and secured to the seat tube.

    e-not-bikes

Thanks guys. I did send an email to the US shop, and we'll see what's what. The Gravity M-10 looks awesome, but IIRC their US dealer representation didn't look a lot better than Yedoo's. The 20x16 is pretty cool, and there's actually a scooter co called Sixteen that's available here, but a...

    e-not-bikes

FML... That Yedoo is a Czech product, and the website I found it on for $455 was Singapore Dollars... They do have one US dealer, out in San Diego, which lists none of their products on their website. Le sigh... Guess I'll be shelling out $600 for the 26"x20" instead of the 20"x16". At...

Questions: first time ebike build ??

I like the description: " If you are a bike fancier or you opened a bicycle shop, you can't miss this Foldable Adjustable Bike Trainer. This bike trainer is made of high quality iron frame with magnetic wheel, which is sturdy, durable and flexible. It adopts three feet to stand, which is more...

    Cannondale Lefty Rush, BBS02, 52V Wolf, 50lbs

Every time I see a used Lefty fork on eBay I think, 'I should!', and then I don't. But one day...

    e-not-bikes

My grandmother, who was otherwise a lovely woman, bought me a unicycle for my, IIRC, 10th birthday. Took me three years of scraped knees and flinging the thing angrily at walls and stuff before I figured it out. Never learned to rock or ride backwards, but I could climb stairs and jump off of...

    e-not-bikes

So, yeah... Haven't even finished my first ebike build, and really ought to be concentrating on that, but late nights on the web and YouTube can result in all kinds of madness. So as I'm looking at the 'basketball that transforms into an e-unicycle' and various hideously ugly enclosed-cabin...

1st e-bike conversion, talk me up, or talk me down!

The BBSHD is ordered and en route, along with my wheels. Continuing to get quotes for a custom battery pack, and should decide on that this week. KMC e101 chain is in-hand and ready to install. If all goes well I might have this thing ready for a shakedown week at OBX at the beginning of August!

Questions: first time ebike build ??

Welcome aboard! Bit of a noob here, myself, but I've been obsessing for about 2 months and have learned a thing or two. 1 & 2) Tools... I ordered the Luna wrench, and need to obtain a T20 torx bit to mount the speed sensor, but it looks to me like that and a decent set of wrenches, sockets...

    2,000watt dual motor conversion

4 4 3k watt hub motors. That is all.

    2,000watt dual motor conversion

Your problem is obvious: not enough wheels! Try this for your next build.

    2,000watt dual motor conversion

Not an electrical engineer, but you'd need to find a way to isolate the two circuits while using the action of the throttle to control both motors. No clue here, but nice bike!

Battery for 48v 500w rear motor geared ebike conversion kit?

Only if the motor controller is capable of higher amp operation.

Battery for 48v 500w rear motor geared ebike conversion kit?

I've seen several packs lately with the BMS set to 50 amps continuous, with peaks to 150 or so. There shouldn't be any problem running these with a motor controller that only draws 30a continuous and 90a peak, should there?

That's why you use a preloaded card, not one that links to your bank account.

If any family members want a bike once I finish mine I'll probably opt for a geared hub.

Thinking about DIY eMTB'ing my Diamondback Recoil 29er

Another vote for the TSDZ2. Had a look at them while considering a more lightweight build, and they look like quality units which are easy to mount if your downtube curves out and then up from the bottom bracket. Torque sensing is a feature I wish the BBSxx drives had.
