I must agree. Having just got my Quick E back after problems solved by firmware updates and a patch, I am loath to change anything.

All seems well now - power even better than before it seems and smooth delivery. Glad to have it back!

Tomorrow...been missing it. Just keeping busy by rebuilding an Intense 951 not necessarily for true downhill but as a do-it-all 'acoustic' mountain bike. Good fun and learning a lot about how bikes work and are assembled.

Sounds like my LBS have fixed this problem with firmware updates and a patch to the system which Giant sent them. Apparently it has more power than before as well now. They are just waiting for a new rear mech hanger before I get it back!

Ok, update....just been out and discovered if I pedal gently the power is much more consistent, but if I push hard, I get the 'on/off' effect again - torque sensor problem?

I have tried the demo mode fix just now before getting 10 minutes' exercise: it just dims the display with no change to the performance.

I haven't had any problems getting power to work up to the stated 15.5mph, but what happens is that power comes in for a number of crank rotations at full power (as you can now see on the display) and then drops to three bars of power for several rotations, then comes back in for a bit and so...

Those are exactly the symptoms that I have on my Quick E - power delivery variable despite constant torque and cadence and no amount of fiddling can solve it. It's a great bike for commuting but will be a pain to use on Ralph Allen Drive (if anyone knows it in Bath) without steady power...
