    12.8 vs 13 Ah batteries

Could be a typo, the pedal assist and throttle only milages match in the 10mph, 12mph and 14mph rows of the chart. Maybe just got the numbers transposed?

    12.8 vs 13 Ah batteries

Why would the more powerful battery have a shorter range at low, pedal assist speeds than the less powerful battery?

    CCS Fitting and Customization

The new handlebar put my arms and wrists in a much better position for me. I probably didn't need the adjustable stem, but it's nice to have the option of moving the bar around.

Crosscurrent S: Questions and Answers, Open Thread

The clip to open the taillight is on the bottom of the assembly and the fender is in the way. I used a 1/4" ratchet with an extension and 8mm socket to take the assembly off. This only takes a few seconds. Don't lose the washers, there are six all together. The hardest part of the whole job for...

And for what it's worth, never grind or sand aluminum. The dust particles are extremely harmful to your lungs. If you want to lightly wet sand a blemish it would probably be okay.

Aluminum is soft, but you'd have to get pretty zealous with a power tool to accidentally remove enough material to compromise the structural rigidity.

Crosscurrent S: Questions and Answers, Open Thread

I've been daydreaming about polishing the frame, like I've seen on motorcycles. Aluminum can be polished to a mirror finish. Not likely to happen, but it would be cool.

    CCS Add-ons & Upgrades & Handlebar Options

Thank you sir, gonna try it now. Edit: my mistake was removing the end bolts completely instead of just loosening them. This allowed the cone nuts to get lost inside the new bar, which I'd already clamped to the stem. Maybe this will help another newbie in the future when changing their bars...

    CCS Add-ons & Upgrades & Handlebar Options

Help! I got a new bar for my CCS and I can't get the stock Velo ergonomic locking grips to go on. The new bar is identical size, just more rise and sweep. I took the bolts on the ends of the grips completely out (oops?) And I can't figure out how to get them to tighten up inside the new bar...

    Real World Battery Range

Here's my real world experience, it's not nearly as scientific as some of you guys. I charge to 80% at home, do my 9 mile commute, then charge again to 80% at work for the ride home. I'm middle aged, forty pounds overweight and pedal as hard as I can mostly in S mode, takes me about 35 minutes...

Okay, talk me out of cancelling my CCS order

I've been riding my CCS with the standard 12.8 amp battery for three weeks now and it's awesome. I didn't want to wait for the upgraded battery. Part of me regrets not being patient because the bang to buck ratio of the 52 volt is gonna blow your mind I suspect. If you decide to cancel your...

Will EBikeshare Replace EBike Ownership For Most People in Cities?

I have as much interest in riding someone else's bike as using someone else's toothbrush. I vote owning my own ebike, but them I'm a grumpy old fart. I could see younger people using shared ebikes.

    CCS Fitting and Customization

I've been reading lots of articles about bike fitting and I'm pretty confident about seat position, but these bars have my elbows locked with my wrists pointed outwards. I'm gonna play with adjusting the bar and controls a little more and building up my strength. I suspect I'm gonna end up...

    Best mirror type?

That's the one I have, I like it enough that I'm gonna order a right side mirror as well.

    Best mirror type?

I can see traffic pretty well. Sometimes I have to move my head a bit, or flex my arm to get a fuller view. Overall I think they're really good. I've never tried a helmet mount mirror, they're inexpensive and some riders prefer them.
