How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

On the surface it appears we have a good infrastructure of bike lanes, and it is getting better and better, but the reality of it is it is dangerous to ride on the streets here in the Valley of the Sun. There are many reasons it is dangerous, the main reason I feel reluctant to ride the streets...

    Pickup driver arrested

That was horrible didn’t hear about this accident until reading about it here on the forum even though I live in the Valley of the Sun. This is not the friendliest place to ride a bike much of the infrastructure didn’t account for bike riding and the cagers don’t come across many bike riders...

    Electric Car thread

😊 – the Arcimoto can go 75mph. Here in the Valley of the Sun there are many communities which have golf carts on the roads, they are licensed and street legal some reach over 35 mph. The Arcimoto has an optional golf bag holder but it is not allowed on the course; too heavy, big and fast.

Anyone familiar with Archimoto? https://www.arcimoto.com/ I think they look okay and would work in my area for short jaunts around. I would be a good cage, an alternative to my Truck.

Came across a bike vs pickup truck accident – need to be careful and follow the rules.

The rider was in great pain but no obvious open wounds he had a helmet he was alert and wanting to move out of the road but was in too much pain, and it’s not a good idea to move until someone who knows allows it – he should be okay after several weeks oh, and the cops came within five minutes –...

Ferrari red Gazelle Ultimate T10+ beautifying L.A. streets!

Nice bike! When riding the Gazelle T10+ what comes to my mind is how it must have been to drive a Duesenberg in the day, breezing past the spindly common cars. Decide to use a trunk instead of panniers. What it looks behind my trailer – I’m on the road now.

Hi; I like your setup especially how perfectly your bike fits in the van. Did you mention what type of trailer you are running? And, the attachments to the bike for the trailer, are they modified to fit?

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

Started this conversation because we picked up a travel trailer and was wondering how to carry the e-bikes. Using the bed of the truck took up too much, much needed space, then thought I could carry the bikes in the travel trailer. Ended up deciding not to carry the e-bikes in the trailer...

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

Front Hitch Mount looks interesting – I will look into that. As for getting used to it, the whole business of Travel Trailer and Truck is a getting used to event to for me. Nineteen years driving my Mini Cooper S to a F-150 and the largest trailer I used was to tow Vespa Scooters behind my...

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

I have seen your set-up in other posts didn’t realize the castor legs swiveled up when in the truck bed, ingenious but it would be hard for me to do having the FX4 package, it raises the rear of the truck significantly, and with a tonneau cover space would be very limited on the short bed. So, I...

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

I put my bike over the tailgate with a temporary pad it was snug in place but it doesn’t seem like a good thing to do. The gate is 51/2 inches to 7 inches wide, middle is the thickest, so when the Gazelle is placed over the gate interference is between the down tube (battery holder) and one of...

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

The bikes look secure, same truck as mine, but the bike tires a smaller in diameter than the ones I have, that is a a ford?, wonder if it will be an issue. A movers blanket is all you use? Oh, is see the strap now.

Do you carry your e-bikes in the trunk of your truck? (Pictures if possible)

Do you use truck tailgate blankets? (Pictures) Or is there a better way? (Pictures) Expected many long trips, towing a travel trailer and carrying two bikes, Gazelle T-10+ and a Specialized Como both with fenders. Reluctant to use a trailer hitch in back of the trailer, but might have to. F-150...

Do you still ride your analog bicycle?

Hi Stefan; Kathleen is not that interested in an electric bike, when we ride the multiuse trails, we keep our speeds relatively low, always slowing down for pedestrians and other slower bikers. If she felt more comfortable riding on the roads for sure she would want an electric bike. Maybe...

Do you still ride your analog bicycle?

Yes; I still ride my analog bike, it’s a hybrid (old mountain bike with smoother and narrower tiers.) I use it to ride with my wife mainly on the many multiuse trails we have in the area.

Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

When we were kids, we called those plants/trees “stink” plants because when the fruit became over ripe, they put off a very pungent odor – the locals called them Lauhala.
