    CF Racer1 Road Delivered Today

i meant the bar, not the frame - every other one piece stem/bar cockpit i’ve seen for a road bike comes in like 8 sizes!

    Potholes.

no problems at all out here. never hit a pothole anything like what you describe. we do have a few roads which are rough-ish in spots, easily dealt with by slowing down a bit and loosening the hold on the bars. I run around 60psI on 28mm, tubeless.

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

nah, the real reason is that most people don’t ride up steep hills, and the people who make bikes know this.

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

yes, this is the issue. all of these motors are geared way down - they spin internally much much faster. on the mid drive, you can gear them down internally with that roughly 80rpm cadence in mind regardless of the speed of the bike, because the 4-5x range of th e-bike‘s drivetrain takes care of...

    CF Racer1 Road Delivered Today

it’s a nice looking road bike, especially for the price. it will not be with some ill-fitting stem and MTB bars. and, of course the geometry will be very wierd. I have to imagine they offer a couple different sizes of the integrated bar to get the fit right?

two e-bikes, one acoustic bike. down from three e-bikes. probably won’t reduce any further unless the acoustic gets sold.

    Salsa e-Bikes - Bikepacking Options

all it says is that gravel as a niche in europe is 5-7 years behind where it is in the United States - and on top of that Europe has many long established brands. growing rapidly in popularity no doubt, but long from the level ubiquity as the United States, especially in the west where there are...

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

the opposite end is even more true! if the hub motor is really happy and in the sweet spot of the torque curve at 100rpm, how happy will it be at 250 RPM, which is 20mph… of course, electric motors are pretty amazing in their flat torque curves over a much wider range of speed than combustion...

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

power rating doesn’t have too much impact on hill climbing at low speed for a hub motor - a hub motor is not likely producing peak power when it’s only turning at 60rpm externally - unless the peak torque is only achieved at very low RPMs. my first hand experience is that either a low power hub...

    Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

if that’s what it actually sounds like … I couldn’t imagine riding such a thing in a natural environment. maybe the video exaggerates it.

    specialized creo 2

i wouldn’t put too much faith in those very small percentage drops from the power on / motor off scenarios - i don’t think the voltage curve on lithium batteries is quite that sensitive, especially at high power levels. but yes, i’ve seen the same thing with my creo 1, a couple percent used when...

    New Spec App?

the heart rate based estimates are totally stupid. everyone’s heart rate is different for a set amount of work. take a beta blocker and your heart rate will be lower for the same activity. are you doing less work? no. work is work, measured in joules, and then watts, not BPM! heart rate should...

Turbo Vado SL5 vs Skitch Flatbar! And the winner is...

yes! eventually it becomes second nature (like having your inside pedal up on a sharp turn) unless you’re really tired. that’s where i’d have problems, pushing it to a too-long ride and for the last hour or two being really worn out and sloppy. that’s when you sit on the seat like it’s a recliner 😂

Vado SL - real world range

SL motors consume 300w at full power/turbo. main battery is 320wh. going 22 mph for one hour in turbo will deplete the battery. if your sport setting peak has 50% max power, then you’ll get two hours of constant full sport. in short, turbo on default settings REALLY eats up battery! it’s best...

my first creo was stolen out of our garage a couple yeras ago, and it was completely covered, upgrades included, no questions asked. it would not be covered if it wasn’t at home.

Turbo Vado SL5 vs Skitch Flatbar! And the winner is...

i wouldn’t say it’s a “big” difference but going to a one piece carbon cockpit - royal alpinist is the best fit for the bike - makes a noticeable difference, more so than carbon bars with a separate stem because they can engineer the flex at both junctions in addition to the length of the bar...
