Having an issue with my CC. When I engage the throttle in the highest gear and PAS 5 setting, and I start to pedal the chain seems to be "skipping" gears for lack of a better word. It makes a sound like it isn't fully in gear then catches on. Was wondering what might be causing this, it's only...

Got it. Just did a quick tally on the X1 upgrade and currently for the 48V 2300W and 2yr Firmware its $1,100 + shipping + taxes. They also require a 10 second video with sound of the motor running, photo of the motor serial, then I'll have to remove the motor myself and ship direct to WW, and...

$100 upgrade... did you mean $1,000 upgrade?

Thanks Reed, the stock chainring is a 40T so perhaps you're right jumping to a 48T might be a bit much and I'd rather not have to get new chains.

Great thanks Reed will follow up on that. FYI I'd reached out to Frey and here was their reply: Regarding the chainring, you can try it, we did not use 48T, our largest is only 44T.

Ya absolutely, I was told to change the chainring to a 48T but will I need to upgrade other parts with it?

This is how mine looks on the front of the CC.

I see thanks for the info. Have you done this?

I just went for my "maiden voyage" on the CC to take advantage of the mild temperatures and was a nice first ride loved the suspension but expected more power, would you happen to know which settings would give that surge as I depress the throttle? if it'll risk damaging the components or cause...

Thanks a lot AHicks, the holding the brakes while getting on makes sense... also not a fan of rolling starts, so I'll see what Frey says. Was poking around in the software but don't want to change anything till I hear back. On my previous ebike a 500w Daymak Wildgoose i'd always kept the gear...

Would like to know how to disable this feature as well, emailed Frey and will update.

When i got my first 500w ebike I said I'd never go beyond PAS 2... 2 months later I got a Frey. :p

Right gotcha, I saw a video where they mention about popping a wheeling in the lowest gear so I'll need to be careful since I typically keep gear high so I could get the pedal resistance and have some benefit of exercise. Do you still have those other 1000w+ bikes around or you kept upgrading...

Where did you learn about this feature cuz the bike didn't come with any manual or instructions for anything. Most of which you can find online but would've been nice to have known about the zero-start and not have a panic attack. :) so the power output is relative to the gear you're in...

Sorry Tom, don't know how I missed the thread but you were spot on it engaged once the bike was in motion! I can't begin to tell you how relieved I was that it was that simple. It's not a bad security feature since the accidental throttle had happened to me already in the past. Thanks and...

Thanks, I was able to connect and program the controller and tweak, walk mode also works and I see the motor works but seems throttle and PAS doesn't. I've unplugged the wires and checked the pins to make sure they're not damaged or bent, took videos and sent to Frey for reference. Will update...

Yes, tried different PAS levels, unplugged and replugged the pins with (seeminly) no bent pins. Altough I'm wondering if one of the pins may have been plugged wrong. Just hope I won't have to open up the motor and try to fix some wiring issue with controller... just extremely disappointing.
