Can an Electric Bike "Replace" A Car?

I am sorry, but here it is also cold in winter, and rainy all year. And i commute in dark 4-5 months a year. Good lights help. I onlu don't go by bike if there is ice on the road or more then 10 cm snow. Then I work at home, I dont like to ride a car in that weather either. 34 km a day can be...

Can an Electric Bike "Replace" A Car?

I think it is possible. We do that to. If my wife and me didn't own SP's, we would own two cars. Now we can get along with one, we use for visiting family (100+ km) and work if we have appointments during the day (also 100+ km). We commute normally with the SP. 2x26 km for my wife, and 2x16 km...

I hate wearing a helmet on ebikes and I found articles online saying helmets do more harm?

I also own the Kask Urban Lifestyle. This does not follow the requirements for a SP-helmet in Holland, bus is good enough for me. I don't think the police will give me a ticket for wearing the wrong helmet.

I hate wearing a helmet on ebikes and I found articles online saying helmets do more harm?

In Holland for speed-bikes (45 kmph) a type approved helmet is requiered. I do agree that if you heve an accident, you better wear a helmet. But my question is: what is the difference for the behaviour of other road-users when you don't? One British man did his one investigation: he rode with a...

A little troubling happening in the e-bike world...

In the netherlands throttle is illegal. Only walk assist is legal (till 6kmph) Ebikes with throttle are legally something else, and regulated seperatly. (2 classes, for max speed under 25 kmph and max speed under 45 kmph) if they can go faster, they are considered motorbikes, but cant follow the...

When you have no option but to buy online...

I disagree. I can get to 40-42 kmph without wind when I work with the bike. My wifes Flyer works a little bit harder, so she doesnt have to work as hard, both have 250 watt motor.

A little troubling happening in the e-bike world...

In the Netherlands it is different I think. It is a relatively crowded country, with a lot of bicycles. Because it is a flat country, and a relatively small country, biking is popular. That also means that the roads and users are used to bikes, but speed-bikes are new, and people are not used to...

A little troubling happening in the e-bike world...

My 2017 Brose Motor, SLOW as molasses, SAD, such a good looking bike..

I own a Bulls with Brose, and my wife just got a Flyer with Panasonic. Technical comparisy is equal: both HS-bikes, Both mid-motor, both 650 Wh battries. Her bike wins almost every contest: more power, higher speed at lower support, the Bulls/Brose only wins at max-speed 9over 40). I was very...

    eBike as Car Replacement ?

That depends... Where do you use it? How much miles a day? Can you charge at the job? Do you want to use in alle weeather? Below zero? Snow? Can you shower / change at work? In short: what do you consider a car replacement? I use my Bulls 4 days a week, 34 km a day, flat surface, Holland, all...

Safety precautions while riding a bike

I dont agree. I dont wear a helmet, and that has nothing to do with looking stupid (or not). In Holland averyone is aware of bikes on the roads or on bike-paths, we all ride bikes here. Helmets protect, specially y high speeds. Holland is flat, on a normal bike my speed is around 20-22 kmph. I...

Riese Müller Charger or Stromer ST1 M25?

You have also looked at the Bulls, you say. Have you considered the Bulls Lacoba EVO E25? I don't know how much that will cost in Germany, In Holland is is around 3500 euro's. Quality is above average, with only 1st class materials and parts.

Safety precautions while riding a bike

In Holland there is a discussion about helmets. Most people don't wear them. I only wear a helmet on my S-EBIKE, over 35 kpu. On my normal bike I don't.

    Lacuba EVO E45

In the review on this siteit says this bike has a 350 watt motor. An e-mail from the makers in Germany tells me that there only is a 250 watt motor... Who knows more?

    Introduction from Holland

At least I am not the only one in Holland with a HS-ebike. My local bikeshop is 7 km from my house... I am an experienced bike-rider, 8000 km a year on my non-electric bike (with 14-speek internal gear-hub, Rohloff). Most of our holidays are by bike, 3-4 weeks aroud Europe, 1500-2500 km. But...

    Lacuba EVO E45

I find this is a great bike. I use it in Holland, winter, dark, some snow and ice, and I commute appr. 30 km a day. Twice I had to go 54 km, and back in the evening. That worked out perfectly.
