Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

That is just the kind of thing I was hoping we could have a place for on here. Thanks for sharing that review. And yes, having the opportunity to carry on a dialogue regarding the review would be a great feature.

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

Just to give an idea of what this could be like, here is a page on a headphone forum where user reviews are posted: http://www.head-fi.org/products/ They have thousands of reviews created by the forum members, and many of the items that have been reviewed have several reviews by different...

Feeling the need for speed? How about 80 mph on an ebike?

Actually, he starts with a pretty basic and stock KMX Tornado recumbent trike, so he is not designing them from the ground up. But he does put in a 1500 watt Crystalyte motor and Cycle Analyst computer. Then he custom builds a 50 volt/30 amp-hour battery using automotive cells for about 90 miles...

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

I spoke to Court yesterday about possibly adding a feature to the forum or maybe even the main site for reviews created by forum members who either own a particular ebike, or are able to give it a thorough test ride and then post their own take on that model. So I am checking if there would be...

Feeling the need for speed? How about 80 mph on an ebike?

I just met a local guy who does custom conversions of recumbent tricycles, and also likes to tinker. A few years ago, he created a 125 volt, 10,000 watt recumbent ebike that he clocked on an airport runway at over 80 mph! This might be a more appropriate topic over on electricbike.com where they...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

Thanks Ann. That is helpful. It does seem like the motor is trying to do regenerative braking! I rode my wife's bike today and it was remarkably quiet.....so I think it is something inside the motor. The Pedego store only works on Pedego bikes, but I found someone nearby who works on ebikes...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

I ordered it online and it is out of warranty. There is a Pedego shop that just opened up here. Maybe they could service the motor.

Newbie here thinking of starting an e-bike tour company!

There is a ebike tour company like the one you are considering here in Sedona, AZ. You might want to contact the owner and ask her about her experiences: https://ebikesedona.com/ She uses fat tire ebikes even though her tours are all on roads, not trails. She finds they are more forgiving for...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

Thanks....that is the kind of info I was looking for. The motor does not make noise when it is working hard, say climbing a steep hill. And upon closer observation, it is not just when I am starting up a slight hill, but also when I am starting down a slight hill. So I am still pedaling, but the...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

The geared hub motor on my Magnum Ui5 makes some noise whenever I am slowing down but still pedaling, like when I am starting up a very gradual hill and my speed is dropping as the motor is working. My wife's bike is the same model but does not make this noise. Most of the time the motor is...

ShareRoller - Quick and Dirty Electric Bikes

Yes, I am eager to try it out on the recumbent bike I picked up on Craigslist. Without any electric assist, the bike is heavy and a bit slow, although I have read that it really does take a while for your muscles to get used to pedaling a recumbent. But with 750 watts of power from the...

    Great places to ride

It might be important to note that on most of the off road biking trails in the designated wilderness areas of the National Forest around Sedona, motorized vehicles of any kind are NOT allowed. We have road style bikes so we ride a lot on the roads around here....early mornings and non-holiday...

    Self Charging eBike

It might work....if you just ride downhill all of the time :)

Is riding an ebike like a regular bike a lot harder with ebikes being heavier?

Another option on most ebikes is to set the electric assist level to the lowest setting. If I put my bike's assist in level one (out of six levels with six being the strongest), it is just enough to overcome the added weight of the bicycle compared to a non-electric bike. At that lowest level...

ShareRoller - Quick and Dirty Electric Bikes

Time will tell. It is not unusual at all for a new product like this to experience major delays at launch. The delays all involved major improvements to the design, but as always, the proof will be in the pudding. I put my money down on a unit and will report back here honestly on how it works...
