    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Thank you, Tom. You've saved me a ton of time. I hope Pushkar finds my post and maybe gets inspired to work with Effigear. He seems like the only guy capable and set up for the challenge. Nevertheless, all these roads point to him as the leader in NA with e-bike innovation..

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Hahaha.. okay, Stefan. Enough with the hate! I get it, we have different goals. I don't disrespect your choices. There's a lot of beauty to both worlds, and both have critical places..

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Thinking more here, and hopefully this helps someone else as well. So, the cheapest way to actually get the Innotrace controller with the Ultra motor is just to buy the stock bike from Exess: €5,890 comes to about $7k. With import duties and taxes, that's maybe $7.5k? That's the least money and...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

I know.. lol.. we are cornered without a choice anymore. Crazy days. Great to know Dengfu is Taiwan. They are at least in a territorial feud with China. The more forces against each other, the more freedom we retain. By the way, no shade intended. Your post and help has been awesome. I just was...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

The more I think about this, the more I lean towards the Cavalerie. The things I can't do are frame fabrication and motor fab/firmware. This frame is specifically the only one that has a FS fitting for a consistent Gates belt line. Cavalerie is also planning e-bike implementation in the near...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

I did see that earlier.. I'm a pro mechanic but the issue is time investment with my other work now. Spending enough time on these forums to tip the needle, but a stitch in time saves nine.. Luna sources their frames from Dengfu correct? Looks like the X-1. Man, everything comes from China...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

See, this is exactly why I'm leaning towards the Ultra. The spindle torque of the M600, BBSHD and Ultra are all passable for me, but it's the user programmable aspect that's really awesome. Every industry has proprietary lock outs. The fact that this motor is the first 'open source' one, is real...

First ride with the Archon X1 upgrade!

Great summary, thank you man. By the way, your post on the G510 bikes for 2020 was great. Reading it again now..

That's very true.. at an even higher level, wind resistance is the largest factor by far. All the stuff you said about trails is right on, I get it. I guess I see something in my own mind that I'm trying to achieve. Thanks for your help..

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Ahaha.. so it goes. Hey, were you the one saying that Luna was great with the M600 drive, so the X-1 is really well done? I wonder how much changed with the internals of the Ultra..

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Looking for a MTB to get back into riding roads and trails, unpowered. I want this same bike to have maximum torque and range for commuting. I'm also trying to get technologies in a single frame that I wanted to implement in my own build 10 years ago as a bike mechanic. I had to forego those...

Check it out, dude! FS cruiser bike with pivot Gates drive. This one is from the Netherlands. Too bad it looks like a moped.. cheapest FS Gates you can get! https://coastcycles.com/buzzraw-x750/

First ride with the Archon X1 upgrade!

Thanks, Tom. I've been slowly gathering that. I've emailed several of these guys and not really gotten cohesive answers. They might think I'm a phantom competitor, or wishing to not go into specifics which would reveal errors to their approach. You seem most knowledgeable about these different...

First ride with the Archon X1 upgrade!

I'm trying to learn more about this on Pushkar's website. Great information on there. In short, I'm still confused about a few things.. So, many people have been pioneering better controllers for the Bafang Ultra motor, which to my understanding is the most powerful mid-drive motor yet...

First ride with the Archon X1 upgrade!

Hey, Kurt.. cool photos and nice Apollo there. Did you successfully upgrade to the X-1 controller and is it compatible with the rest of the Luna hardware? What performance differences did you feel?

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

..lol.. sorry mate. Didn't mean to come across that way. I'd end up in the same debacles, because a successful business isn't about the best engineering, it's about appealing to your customers and staying within the law. I don't think I'm smarter, just frustrated at the powers that be, neutering...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Tom, that thread was enormously informative! Thanks for linking. I don't want to go 'motorbike' because of tightening laws where I live, and also I want it to be lightweight enough to ride effectively. I want a light powerbike, essentially. I'm realizing through all the research I've done that...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

It does not automatically require this, nor does this necessarily make the frame much weaker, depending on the linkage. There are chain-like belt designs that can be installed without a frame modification now. Thanks to these responses I see now how a superior engineering concept got shelved...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Wow, thanks Tom. I actually e-mailed Luna about this and got crickets. I wanted to know the differences between their controller, the Archon X-1, the Exess controller, and the stock. The controller for this motor is what takes a mid-range punchy paperweight into a true machine. There needs to be...

    Help finding FS/G510/Gates bike..

Thanks, McCorby. Good to know another angle on this. That completely makes sense. The teeth on chain drives will tend to spit out debris through the links, rather than trap it underneath the belt, leading to derailment..
