I can't quite tell from the picture what type of bearings that headset uses. Can you send a better picture of the bearings?

I believe most headsets come with crown race. The H185 did... You could also re-use your old one if you wanted too...but no point if you get a new one

I did notice the steering mechanic felt a little different. Most likely due to the added height and give in the fork. However, you should also double check the tire pressure in your front tire. If that gets too low then as you start turning, the bike will definitely feel like it's turning...

Yeah, just keep in mind that when you tighten the bolt into the star nut...that step is almost temporary. Meaning, you use that bolt to tighten it just enough that the fork doesn't have any up/down play and turns on the bearings easily. That bolt IS NOT meant for structural support...just to...

I'm not sure what you mean by: "did you feel feedback through the handlebars like you did when the original steer fork was installed?"

Yeah, good catch. From the video, it does look like the seat post is backwards... Turn it around and it'll work much better!!

Are you experiencing too much bounce when you ride and go over bumps? Or you aren't experiencing any bounce? Just bouncing up and down like that with all of your weight will definitely compress the seat suspension (or it should). When I got my bike (I weight about 210 lbs) it was a touch too...

Just the PVC pipe...that's all I used.

    Lectric XP

PVC pipe is typically sized based on the inside diameter. So the 1 1/4" PVC size I suggested is referring to the inside diameter...

Did that headset work OK? Did you have to swap the cups? Or did the original cups work with the new headset parts?

I don't think you 'technically' need a special pump?? It's just a normal air valve.. However, the air cavity in the shock is very small and it doesn't take much air volume to change the pressure. And your working pressure is like 60-120psi or so. So it might be possible to use a different...

There is no difference between the air fork and the oil fork...both are 1 1/8" non-threaded forks.

Yep, looking at the red air cap vs the darker cap on left side of shock is the most reliable method of identifying which version of shock. Red air cap is the air shock and the darker cap is oil shock.

The original folding stem has a quill (the part that sticks down inside of the steerer tube) and is made for threaded headsets/forks. The new suspension fork is threadless and requires a different folding stem that has the star nut interface and locking collar.

BMX style wouldn't be a bad way to go either... I don't really fold my bike much. If you tend to fold your bike often, then keeping a folding stem is probably important.

Should probably work fine. The top collar is tapered instead of a tall flat collar...so could look a little weird, but should still work. You could also buy one of the spacers I got which is essentially the same as the top neco spacer.

It's still on eBay. The seller goes 'away' sometimes...but with some patience, you'll get the headset...

Yeah, just barely. Sorry it took so long. Hopefully it will help some of you guys out that are upgrading your forks! See video here:

There are likely other headsets that would work. This one is just nice because it's a perfect match from the same manufacturer. But you can find the dimension drawings from Neco's catalog. And you could compare the cup sizes with other headsets to see if the existing cups would work on other...
