Conversion Kit Suggestion for my Situation

Wow, all this help and info is great to have! Ok, I've at least decided to go for that bike and ebikecanada for the 10T, I just need to figure out the rest of the componenets and fit. I'll return to this post once I have the bike in hand.

Conversion Kit Suggestion for my Situation

Thanks all, I appreciate the comments so far. Seems if I want to do this as a build, a simple kit won't be enough and I'll need to learn a fair bit more (I honestly don't understand much of what's been said so far except that I need to go wholly custom...). Perusing the site on ebikes.ca...

Conversion Kit Suggestion for my Situation

Hi All, So I've made a couple posts now, and here's where I am. My first conversion is laid out here: https://electricbikereview.com/foru...king-input-direction.16153/page-3#post-136147 I made another post talking about how that got stolen and whether I should do another conversion or buy a...

Custom conversion stolen, do another or buy or built?

The first one was pretty well done! Just that the base mountain bike was a bit old. It's all the same stuff from my linked post. In Seattle, and biking up steep grades. I weigh in officially at 330lbs. I would ride it to work (mostly down hill with see slight gradients). And ride it home...

Custom conversion stolen, do another or buy or built?

Hi all, I need help deciding between doing another conversion or buying pre built. I received help on converting my old trek mountain bike (see here https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/completely-new-and-seeking-input-direction.16153/page-3#post-136147) from this forum. About a month...

First Kit, stuck on swapping breaks for 21-speed paddles....

I didn't know this. I just hot glued magnets into my current breaks... very meh job. I'll look into what you're suggesting here.

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

Hey @Chris Hammond , so I'm curious, how do I fit two torque arms on the hub? They all seem to be closed rings and I have no idea how to get it over the wire on the other side. Or would they stack together on the same side?

First Kit, stuck on swapping breaks for 21-speed paddles....

Thanks @Nova Haibike , that's good to know! Upon further inspection though, I think I can just move the sensors over to my current brakes with some after market magnets and a new hole for the sensor from the ebike kit. I'll try that first before spending more cash. Happy it's not an actual...

First Kit, stuck on swapping breaks for 21-speed paddles....

Looking at my housing, I don't think I can just pull out the old brake piece. However, looking at the ebikekit's brakes, they are using a magnetic system it looks like. I don't know how feasible it is (for example, my current housing may be interfere with the magnet...) but I'm considering...

First Kit, stuck on swapping breaks for 21-speed paddles....

Hi All, First of all, thanks again for all the help on my very first post (see here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/completely-new-and-seeking-input-direction.16153/page-3) I got my kit and ran into a bit of a snag. The instructions say to swap out my old brakes with the ebike...

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

That's a good note John. I specifically got my bike as well for the expected weight limit (I'm pretty heavy) so It should be good to go with me and the added components. But breaking is a good point, part of this is that I wanted to implement regenerative breaking, if anyone has a good direction...

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

Hi All, Just wanted to update. Over the weekend I put in an order for: https://www.ebikekit.com/products/e-bikekit-heavy-duty-rear-lithium-48v Rear with 20Ah battery and 7-speed. Found a discount code witch basically removed the tax/delivery fees. So came up about 1489. Should ship out in a...

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

Question, any of you familiar with the items on Amazon? Wondering why the costs seem so low for the kits listed there, is it purely because there's no battery? Would these be a safe bet? Admittedly it looks way more appetizing than 15000$. What am I missing? Ex...

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

I think.... I'm somewhere between: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) and https://www.ebikekit.com/products/e-bikekit-heavy-duty-front-lithium-48v Both with the highest battery options so about 1500$ total. I was looking about https://em3ev.com/ as suggested, but as mentioned, it's a little...

@J.R. was taking a look at your suggestion here: https://www.ebikekit.com/collections/heavy-duty-systems-lithium/products/e-bikekit-heavy-duty-rear-lithium-48v Do you know what is meant by nominal vs peak for the motor? It's a 500-1000W jump, I like the 1000, but don't like the 500. Does this...

Also, @JoePah , seems ElectricRider is in the midst of selling off as well. So the company's changing hands.

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

@Dewey and @JoePah , reason number 5 on that link from Lemire has solidified me sticking to the hubs. My original want was at least an option for regenerative breaking, and not being able to easily go that route's a deal breaker for me. A quick search has a lot of hypothesis and todo's but I'm...

Are there any thoughts on: https://bafangusadirect.com/products/bafang-bbs02-750-watt-mid-drive-motor-ebike-conversion-kit?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx6vyx7HM2QIVjLjACh3FTw96EAAYASAAEgKXbfD_BwE I was also on Aliexpress for a 1000W motor... but for now, yes, I'll see about test driving each of these...

    Completely new and seeking input/direction

Oh, thanks. I thought I saw a mid-drive option. I might check out Seattle E-Bikes instead as my office is closer. But their costs easily double over Radpower. I'm still buying a kit, but that would mean that they'd probably be less cool with me test driving a bike, especially if I'm not buying.
