I went ahead and upgraded the pedals: http://tokyocyclist.blogspot.com/2021/12/reflective-pedals.html (They use the same 15mm standard as my XM-1, so I was able to just swap them). As an aide, the XM-D2 uses a totally different standard, I have no idea how to remove those pedals.

Update... There are mods sold for the YPJ line (an Yahoo Japan, etc.), they consist of just a different magnetic disc that goes on the axel. So if the normal disk changes polarity 16 times, the modified one changes polarity only 8 times so that the bike will think it is going half the speed...

Hmm I have to agree. Taking the motor out and putting it back in is low risk, and in the worst case, the bolts are too loose and you have to tighten them - but digging out broken boots is not risky, so I would try to have that done under warranty if at all possible. I also agree that they...

Hi, It's a little hard for me to make out your photos, but for sure there are bolts of some kind. Wow.. I think 1000 miles is over 1500km. I don't think mine has made it anywhere near that far.. Granted I usually use my panasonic for road riding and tend to use the Yamaha more for off road...

I was able to loosen and tighten all of the bolts even with the chain ring there (Aleit just barely). When I took apart the bike and put it back together to install the power stealing wiring harness for my light, I retightened everything to just 6nm because that was as far as my torque wrench...

It does. 11nm on one side, 22 on the other for the motor.

Btw I have two Knog Pwr lights, which aren't bad, except for needing charging. I also got the proper DC to DC converters now to replace the overkill monstrosity I was using temporarily.

Sorry, I was out riding in the mud... Yes I like the route options in n Navitime. I have a dedicated bike Navi unit that has similar options, but the maps are from 2012... If I have to go to the same place often and I get bored of the route, I can easily try another. BTW Navitime does work...
