Did I damage my ebike battery thermistor? Accidentally multimeter the positive and thermistor instead of negative.

My 48v ebike battery which was ~90% charged has a 3 pin connection (as below), I wanted to use a multimeter to double check the voltage reading vs the voltage reading from the ebike display. I wasnt sure which of the 3 holes were which so i just chose randomly, I put the positive on one of them...

Easy way to fix chain skip when going from 14t to 11t on rear derailleur?

Many of the "cheaper" ebikes come with a 14-28t rear cog cassette ( freewheel ) , and one of the most common ways to improve riding experience and speed is to replace it with a 11-28t for ~$20, and the process is generally quite easy. the problem is that the chain tends to skip easy when on 11t...

Are settings like P07, P08 parameters etc. stored on the display or controller?

thank you Ahicks for the confirmation that the "memory" stays with the display, so that I would need to keep the unlocked display in order to maintain the settings

Are settings like P07, P08 parameters etc. stored on the display or controller?

sorry if this sounds silly, but I ask because the M5 display that came with my ebike has ALL P settings above P04 locked. And I was told that changing a cheap display to something like S866 will allow me to change the P settings. However say if I change them, and I replace the display back to...

Bought a rear air shock, but unable to pump it to proper ~150 PSI. Air comes out when taking off...

so unfortunately, now i realize that the more expensive types come with an "air valve" that locks the air in while you unscrew the bit... but mine doesnt, so i'm curious how does one pump air into this ? i'm using a compressor with a screw bit. Please see video on my failure...

How many links to remove going from 14-28t to 11-28t ?(front crank is 48t)

I have a 7 speed folding fat ebike and it came with 48T crank + 14-28t rear. I changed the rear to 11-28t as it gives a much better cadence and "human power assist" for me. HOWEVER, i notice I'm skipping chain alot when i'm on 11t , and i do see a good slack on the chain. Question is, how many...

Any way to adjust a non-adjustable front suspension fork?

I know this sounds like a stupid question and that I answered it already. i bought an ebike online and it has front suspension however i found it to be extremely stiff, as if it was a hardtail fork. so i look at the cap and first there is no lock nor adjustment. I took off the plastic cap and...

Is Cruise Control feature considered Class 1 E-bike? (eg. not throttle?)

i'm curious about the e-bike business and if people ACTUALLY want Class 1 or rather have a throttle but possibly risk being banned on certain roads/trails. Of course that depends on where you are in the world. i'm focusing on the Canada and US market. my gut feeling tells me people rather have...

Is Cruise Control feature considered Class 1 E-bike? (eg. not throttle?)

I know many e-bikes have the cruise control function whereby you pedal up to a certain speed and you can then "lock" the power and have the purely run on motor. I did notice that many of these don't really advertise this feature. I wonder if it is due to regulations? How does the class...

Need opinion on single speed 20" fat ebike gearing ratio : 40T front teeth / 12T rear teeth, would this be "inefficient"?

i'm currently building a bike that is oriented towards mid-aged/late 40s/50s people (eg. my parents) who would like to get SOME exercise, go out but get some assist at maximum comfort. i currently am building a 20" 3in "fat" tire bike with full suspension (geared towards comfort on allterrain)...

What is the part that controls how responsive / lag there is for motor to kick in once start pedalling?

" Crooked magnet plate with a varying gap would be a sign of what is really wrong." THANK YOU, that's EXACTLY what is going on here. Please see: Also, i'm experiencing what exactly you describe: "My PAS was too jerky, accelerated too fast and wouldn't go slow enough (11 mph minimum) for my...

What is the part that controls how responsive / lag there is for motor to kick in once start pedalling?

i have used ebike and everything seems good except that i dont like this aspect of it: - Once i start pedalling, it takes about ~2 full revolutions to start the motor. and also when i stop pedalling, it takes about 2 full seconds to have the motor cut off. to me, this lag is too much and i'd...

    Controller Modification for more speed?

I have a 20" model and I really like it , it has really really good range given the size of battery it has. however i think the fact that it has a sine-wave controller, it doesnt seem to "use" as much power even on assist level 5. i have a similarly powered bike and that one, is not sine-wave...

Advice in Fixing Hall Sensor Error on a Brushless Rear Drive Hub (Photo of motor)

I have a Vilano Neutron (36v 250w folding fat bike), and it uses a king meter km529. Currently, when I turn on the bike it flashes Error 24 which I have research indicates a "Hall Sensor" error either due to a loose wire or burnt out hall sensor. Before this error, I used it for a relatively...
