    Qualisports Dolphin vs Lectric XP

@goldconch thanks, this is great info! I assume that reduces the “hamster-wheel” effect at higher speeds? That’s one thing that really bugs me about the bike.

    Tern HSD S11

@Chris Nolte Thanks for the great review as always! Was looking forward to this. Guess I'm in the minority on the color, but maybe I'll feel differently after giving it a spin. Any ideas when these will start showing up in stores? Also, is it possible to do an aftermarket Kiox/Nyon upgrade on...

    Tern HSD S11

@McCorby Yeah I guess I was a bit harsh. Only disappointed because this bike checks almost all the boxes for me, but I don't know if I could get over the color. Guess I'm not in their target market!

    Tern HSD S11

Just noticed this on their site. This one goes to 28 mph! Good thing, otherwise someone might notice the color of the bike. Yeesh 🤢 Fingers crossed for a limited-edition matte black or something?? They should call that color "blue milk". Maybe this will dry some of the tears shed for the R&M...

    Qualisports Dolphin vs Lectric XP

@goldconch awesome, thanks for the info! Excited to experiment later. Somewhat related - Any chance you know anything about intercepting/reading data to/from the controller? I've been wondering what it would take to install a bluetooth transmitter and build an app to operate the bike.

    Qualisports Dolphin vs Lectric XP

Dolphin owner here. Mind elaborating on how you disabled the power-assist controls and got it up to 28 mph? I've upped the speed cap in the menus but the bike seems to run out of steam around 22-23 mph.

    2021 Riese & Müller Tinker

Thanks for the European perspective, that all makes sense. I was aware of how strict Europe is with the bikes, so always found it interesting that R&M actually offered a 28 mph version. Guess they weren’t selling enough to justify keeping the alternate model around. Hopefully as the US market...

    Riese & Muller Tinker

I started a thread of grievances over here. :p Half-kidding, but as someone who really wanted a HS version with a Gen 4 motor, I'm disappointed. @Abeydoun put it best in the other thread - the Tinker now feels like an afterthought in R&M's catalog. I'm sure it'll be a great bike, but they...

    2021 Riese & Müller Tinker

I totally agree with your earlier sentiments about the Tinker now being an afterthought for R&M. Really sad, as I was excited to see what a company like R&M would do with a compact bike. I will also be waiting to see what happens with the Vektron, though I'm not holding my breath. They've been...

    2021 Riese & Müller Tinker

I've been keeping a close eye on their September announcements as I've been waiting for a new Tinker. It appears things are starting to pop up on their site, including an updated Tinker: https://www.r-m.de/en-us/bikes/tinker/ Not sure if the site update is complete, as I see a "Tinker Silent"...

    Riese & Muller Tinker

Interesting, where did you see info about the announce date for Riese and Müller's 2021 lineup? Was it in a Facebook comment? Can't seem to find it. I'm also very interested in seeing a Tinker upgrade - hope it's more creative than just a motor swap. I would also love it if R&M released a...

    Mid-drive + hub dual-motor setup?

Does such a thing exist on a production bike? Has anyone cobbled together one? Was just thinking about this today and wondered what that experience would be like. I like the natural feel of mid-drive motor systems but also love having a throttle. I know there are certain mid-drive systems with...

    Dolphin Owner

I also got a Dolphin. The fenders really feel like an afterthought, from installation to actual use. Did you end up taking off the wheel to get the front fender on? I reached out to support to make sure I wasn't missing anything, and they told me to just bend one of the eyelets down to get it...

    Qualisports owners?

Thanks for the feedback! I pre-ordered a Dolphin and can’t wait to get my hands on it. What kind of saddle and pedals did you get, and are you happy with them? I’m already planning on updating the tires, saddle, and pedals, so want to start gathering some ideas.

    Qualisports Dolphin vs Lectric XP

I looked at both and pre-ordered the Dolphin. Some context: I live in NYC in a small 3rd-floor walkup apartment. Here are the things that swung me toward the Dolphin: Weight/size - I’m going to have to haul my bike up stairs every day, so I really didn’t like the added weight of the XP. The...

    Qualisports owners?

What was your impression of the Stash? I take it the price was a major factor in your decision? Also, having ridden both the Stash and the Volador, how would you compare the two? Think the Stash is worth an additional $700? I’d probably be changing the seat and pedals of the Dolphin, as well as...

    Motiv Stash 2018 owners?

I'm in the market for a <$2000 folding bike and just came across the Stash. I was almost settled on a Qualisports Volador or Dolphin, but the Stash has a number of great upgrades that might sway me despite the higher price. Are there any Stash (2018) owners out there that wouldn't mind sharing...

    Qualisports owners?

I'm looking at the Volador and Dolphin as I don't need an ultra-light bike - I'd be fine with 50 lbs. I actually just came across the Motiv Stash, and while it's a bit more expensive it does seem to have a nice collection of features for the price - front suspension, 8 spd, included rack...

    Qualisports owners?

Thanks! How long have you had it? Any issues so far? Also, is everything stock on it or did you make any aftermarket upgrades? I'm already thinking about upgrading the saddle, possibly the tires.

    Qualisports owners?

Any Qualisports owners out there, or anyone who's spent more than a few hours with one? I'm curious what your experience has been like, specifically when it comes to build quality, durability, and support. I realize it probably isn't going to rival a premium bike in this regard. I'm impressed...
