Amish. They aren't quite as strict as they once were.

    electric bike in Amish country.

Something I found interesting. I was in Amish Country (in Ohio) this past weekend and the Amish were riding electric bikes all over the place. Saw a family of five all on electric bikes. Just something I found interesting.

    Carrying spare battery

There you go. Basically what I suggested earlier. You made a little more permanent connector than I did.

    Carrying spare battery

LOL.....good question. Spade connectors and small jumpers. If it was something I actually considered doing regularly, I would come up with something more permanent. Before my regular battery arrived I did this to make sure everything else was working. I was surprised at how far it went on the...

    Carrying spare battery

Batteries are heavy. I don't carry one but if I was of the mind to...... My bike is 36 volt. My lawnmower is 40 volt. For an emergency use, I'd take that. Much smaller and still gets you a good ways.

Asking for the Collective Wisdom here....... Battery Fires ???

Still rare. A lot of things use lithium batteries today. We put them in our pockets. On our laps. Everywhere.

Asking for the Collective Wisdom here....... Battery Fires ???

Getting hit by a car is a far more likely thing to happen.

Asking for the Collective Wisdom here....... Battery Fires ???

Auto batteries can catch fire. Phone batteries can catch fire......etc, etc, etc. As noted, all rare and not a reason to avoid something.

    Police Harassment

I'm not sure we are discussing Pakistan, Nepal, India or China. If we are, I will bow out as what they do has nothing to do with me.

    Police Harassment

Simply riding a bike incurs risks.

    Police Harassment

Others could believe that those pesky bikes don't belong on the road at all and the only way you should be allowed to ride them on the road is if you take all responsibilities for anything that might happen to you. Do we refuse to rescue mountain climbers unless they pay up? Hikers? You get...

    Bianchi Aria e-road.

I can't help you but that is one good looking bike.

    Police Harassment

I don't care what someone else does. I will wear a helmet because I care about me but I ride a lot in Ohio where a person can ride a motorcycle without a helmet. A guy was killed locally this past weekend probably in part because he was riding without a helmet. IMO not wise but I would hear it...

Saw lots of ebikes the past few days and a jerk on an A2B

There are people who ride them for there cheap transportation costs. (Me). If I want to go to get something to eat across the river from where I live I'll hop on my bike. I'm not interested in arriving hot and sweaty. Part of the ride is on a walking bike path. I doubt I do 5-8 mph on it...

    Bike Seat

I have an older Bell seat I bought at Wal-Mart years ago. I've never ended a ride because of seat un-comfort. I don't ride as far as some of you though.

Grin does it again. Regen 36v hub motor 28mph

Pretty cool but at 4.5 times what I paid for mine, I guess I will stick with what I have. 23-24 mph is fast enough for me.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I looked that up. I'm curious about something. How is that for jarring while on the bike? If the backpack is on me, I absorb a good bit of the jarring.
