PS,.. My Outback is legal, and I set the speed limit to 32kph to make sure.
500 Watts is the nominal power allowed in Canada
If I'm pushing into a 20 mph headwind my current output goes up to over 18.3 amps at over 52 volts under load.
That's almost 1000 Watts continuous.
Just don't speed or be a complete Ass, and you'll be fine.
