Here is what I did to my Cybervelo EK7

A nice budget ebike the Cybervelo EK7 I got needed a few upgrades for my grocery shopping trips. So I mounted a front basket, a large rear rack, a couple locks, a rear view mirror and a cargo trailer. Since I had the larger rack and still wanted to use it with the trailer I mounted the seat post trailer hitch to the rear rack with three u bolts. Initial ride with empty trailer was fine other than the noise from the plastic basket inside the trailer bouncing around. That should not be a problem when loaded. I also have a 60T front chainring to install but it is not compatible with the stock crank arm bolt pattern so I ordered a new crank arm set and that should complete the mods to this bike later today.

Wow, 60T! Is this bike capable of climbing at all with such a big chainring in front now? Also, that’s quite a big box for your rear rack. Could be a little problematical for you if you put anything heavy on that, especially if it shifts around. But, it looks pretty cool!

Climbs quite well on the one steep hill in my neighborhood and I only use the top gear all the time so I didn't lengthen the chain. I use throttle for starts since pedal assist is very laggy to kick in. Most of my trips are flat to slight uphill so no issues as power is plenty and I do like a little pedal effort. That is why I upped the gearing so no more ghost peddling over 16-18 mph now 25mph is at a more comfortable cadence for me. The only heavy item I carry is the case of water bottles and I will pack other stuff around it. Might add some inner support or bungie cords. Will see how it goes after first run later this week but the larger gear is great.

I think I can center the heavy water bottles and then pack the lighter freezer bags and bread on either side. I like the idea of not having to squish the bags with bungee cords to secure them as with my previous cargo rack especially since I usually buy 4 loaves of bread each weekly trip and it was hard to keep them from getting squashed in the soft insulated bags I use.
